Consider this. You start doing one thing and put all your energy into that one thing and you have accomplished. Now you want to move on to the next thing. You start puting all your energy into this new task. All of a sudden u realise that you are now losing all your progress in the first goal you previously accomplished in. (Btw, the first goal was school) How can u prevent this from happening?

you just maintain it. for example, ur obsessed with the gym and ur going 6 times a week. once ur happy with ur body u wanna switch to making money - thats ur new obsession. u wouldnt just STOP the gym entirely. thats dumb. instead of 6x a week just do 1 or 2 quick sessions to maintain, not grow. it sounds obvious when i say it like this but yeah, just maintain the things youve achieved. generally maintaining is easy. just ask yourself “how little can i work and still keep this thing”. usually once a week is good enough. doing it once a week consistently still compounds over time. its consistency that determines the winners. go intense for a short period to achieve great things then just stay consistent. people will think you’re insanely productive. edit: ima pin dis so people can see if they have the same qn

The amazing thing about this idea of focusing intensely on one activity , is that you will know the nuances of the art your trying to improve, for example fitness, if you worked out long enough, you will know which exercise will work which muscle. So my point is after you know exactly the most efficient way to work a muscle, you can just do that once or twice a week to maintain the muscle. Again as he said, maintenance is much easier said than done, if you know your art.

I'm from India. What you said really applies to me. I used to think that I can manage school, fitness, arts, music, computer science, language learning and blah blah blah at the same time but now YOU REALLY CHANGED MY MIND IN AN INSTANCE. Now I am planning on doing what you adviced, I will focus on only my priorities (school, fitness and computer science) and just do the other when I am in my vacation or my leisure time, that is when I just want a change of mood for fun. I will get into 9th grade in 2024, and you really motivated me. Thank you very much 😊.

In last video you asked this question "what do you think about the editing? i think it's a lot of dopamine so this video is more of an experiment than anything but yeah give me feedback. did it help visualise or was it distracting" My answer: Brother, could you reduce the editing a bit? I mean, you're putting in a lot of effort, and I do appreciate it. However, I feel that the older videos, with minimal editing, were the best. They made me feel more connected to you, like I was sitting right beside you. Also, "more editing = more dopamine" which i feel is :( But as we all know, 'we always need to grow and keep improving.' I suggest keeping the editing at a 5 on a scale of 10. The editing you did in this video was around 8.5 to 8. Also, could you use subtitles like the ones in your old videos? They were the best! :) Anyway, it's entirely up to you, and you'll choose what to do next. But no matter what, I'll always support you. Lets keep improving! Regards, On Self Improvement

I saw a post talking about shiny object syndrome and how you should become everything, by doing everything, which conflicted with this idea. I think priorities are needed or else you won't have much of a track on where to go, plus many other things could be useless. However, I think having a wide range of skills is a good trait, except these traits are built one after the other long-term wise, so once you've completed one longer-term goal, you can move on to a new, fresh one. And I should probably be cutting down a tad bit on the other things which are unimportant to me like many things

[Note: pls dont take it as a hate comment, i only want a discussion, i love his videos, they are insanely good!!] I agree with most of the video but maybe i am stretching what you told but i disagree with focusing only on one thing. Mainly for three reasons(and they all kind of fuse together). 1)We should have balance, balance does exist. its like stacking something, you cant make a card castle right away but you do need at least a few cards instead of just one. Only doing one thing for a long period of time will never be enough and you would definitely regret not putting even a little amount of time into the others. i dont mean to say try to build a castle of skills altogether but instead, we could do like two or three things that are our top priorities. 2) Humans do get tired and needed something else to refresh them when they only do one thing, ex. self-improvement or fitness. You can never spend all your day just reading books, going to school, eating, it will strain you and you would get tired and hence less efficient, same for fitness, we cant spend all day in gym and rest learning about human body. ofc focusing only on one thing would help but efficiency would drop a lot as you dont refresh yourself. i think instead, we should focus on at least two to three. maybe it would be even better to have one thing thats physical like basketball or football, and something else thats mental, like self-improvement, or business, you could add in another activity thats not too demanding and you can wait for compounding, like art. 3) No matter how hard we work on a single thing, we can never become God of it or great at it just in a fraction of time, humans learn and evolve not just by experiencing things but also absorbing them, thats why its necessary to not just read books but also absorb what you learn. I think instead of focusing only on one thing, we should decide three things or so, increase our timeline, instead of just six months or an year, make it like two to three years, decide what we want to achieve in them, make a road map and work on them without being distracted. Results that come too quickly may tend to become short-lived results too so instead focus more on retaining the results we have and improving upon them. compounding will do its job, and once we are consistent enough, we pick up our pace too. these are just my views, feel free to share yours.😊😇

But if there are like 10 activities on my list and I make 3 as my most important ones, when will I focus on the rest because I would always want something more of those 3 priority tasks as well Suppose my top priority is studies, fitness and mental health what about the other habits because once I have got good grades in one subject I would naturally want it for every other subject and this won't stop, and this is exactly the time when we distribute our energy but logically it is not wrong as well Btw nice work!! I partially agree. I break everything into sections and manage to accomplish what I set out to do in various aspects. As long as I separate it into layers of what comes first using time, location, and space, it works. I'm not sure if it falls into what you mentioned about juggling. Then, focusing on just one, causes mental health problems. Seeking productivity ends up being counterproductive, killing creativity

I don’t know about that honestly. Some things are not really a choice. If you are a student who does not get financially supported by their parents (like myself) you kind of have to „balance“ work, school, social life, fitness and hobbies. Otherwise, if you only immerse yourself in let‘s say only school, you will eventually burn out. Only focusing on money is not an option, because you need an education. Only focusing on your hobby is not going to get you money or an education and only focusing on social life is not going to get you any of the other things above. But as a human being, we need a social life. No fitness means bad health. So I think that all of that sounds good in theory, but is not really applicable to most people.
