Why the hell Honda didn't put a remote hatch release button up front somewhere is beyond comprehension. That seems to be a basic thing on most other cars.

There must be some chassis differences, because my CR-V is not like this at all. There is no lever to manually open it, there is a tab inside a slot on the white solenoid assembly. But my issue was the screws that hold the solenoid to the door frame came loose, and it could actuate all it wanted, but it wasn't pushing against the release anymore. I had to completely empty the back of the truck, take the *entire* door lining off, and fish around until I could see what the solenoid pushed against, then push that manually. Just a warning to people, your truck may not look like this.

Why didn't Honda put a button up front to unlock & open the hatch. Even my mid '70s GM cars & '84 Honda Civic S HB had that.

I can't get in my car. Fob won't work with and key is stuck .I pulled back the window managed to get a stick to pull the handle on the door still jammed up . Is trunk latch completely independent to the rest of the rest of the locking system or is it still connected to the rest .I'm gonna see if I can get some thing throughout the top of the window to open it that way thanks for your time
