By your inspiration, we started practicing everyday. We both are in our 70s. One of us practicing Bach's Minuet and one of us Chopan's Fantasy Impromptu. We both are watching your TV series daily. We are going to share it whenever the opportunity comes. Thanks so very much for your guidance. We really appreciate your reaching out. Thanks once again.

If you are asking if your technique will greatly improve if you go to a music college, I would say that it totally depends on your teacher. Finding the right teacher that can inspire you is the most important thing in your musical development, aside from a good work ethic and personal motivation. If you take lessons from someone who excites your passion about music and is knowledgeable and can help you fix your technical problems, then absolutely you will improve.

Sometimes I have to break it down to even two notes and just add note by note. It can get that detailed, but it's worth it.

Josh, I'm a adult beginning/intermediate player and I have to say you are an absolutely wonderful teacher. So glad I've discovered your videos. They have answered many questions I have had and even some questions I did not know I had. Just this one tip here has given me an effective way to tackle a problem I'm having now in a piece. Thank you so much for passing on your knowledge.

You should read a free online book called fundamentals of piano practice by chuan c Chang. Your methods are very similar to his. His parallel sets method completely improved my playing very quickly. Cheers on the vids!

That is a great practice technique. Also one could try practicing a an entire bar and the first note of the next bar. The first note in the next bar would be then where you would start practicing the next bar and one note of the following bar. Then you could increase it to two bar segments practicing two bar segments and including the first note of the following bar. That first note of the following bar would then be where you would start practicing the two bar segments again. Then gradually increase to three bar segments an so on. This tip came from pianist magazine. Graham Fitch. This is a really good tip which is a modification of your tip. I will use your tip as well in my practice.

Hey Josh, great lesson thanks very much. Just winding back a bit for those of us who are still at a rudimentary level, if you had a tied note going into your first bar would you play that note or would you only play those notes in that bar. For example in Heller 25 Studies Op. 47 No. 6 there is an A tied for two bars in Bar 1 & 2, once you had finished Bar 1,2,3 and move on to 2,3,4 would you play that A before starting Bar 2?

Is it possible for any tips on Moments Musicaux No4, Rachmaninov? I can't seem to get it up to speed and keep the accuracy. I've been playing it for about 5 months now. Thanks very much
