How to Measure Brake Pedal Height, Brake Pedal Free play and Brake Pedal Reserve Distance.

In this video we will be measuring brake pedal height, brake pedal free play and brake pedal reserve distance. We will be completing this on a 2016 Toyota Corolla. After making measurements we will be learning how to properly adjust the brake pedal on this vehicle.

I got a 2009 Silverado. I got a bike cylinder and power booster. My pedal is like 8 inches off the floor. The mechanic says it's right everyone else says it's too high. How do I fix this. It's too high to the point I'm I'm uncomfortable driving it

Thanks Gregory! I drive a Ford Econoline handicap van and I am short. I am hoping that I can use this adjustment as I have to lift my entire knee to hit the break. I don’t feel safe in its current location. Thanks for the tip. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you very much for the question. I would recommend keeping your brake pedal to the manufactures specification. This is due to the fact that If your brake pedal is too high, it can cause increased brake wear, uncomfortable driving, brake drag, brake lights staying on, and delayed braking response. It's important to get it properly adjusted for safety and performance. If needed there are aftermarket companies that offer equipment that can alter the brake pedal to your comfort without compromising safety.

I gotta 2022 chevy equinox and the break is really high and hurts my foot after driving too long is it possible to adjust it lower or will it mess up the specifications?

Great question, sometimes it is difficult to find the brake pedal measurements with online service guides. If your service guide does not have the specifications I would search the manufacture specific information, as they are normally more complete and detailed with information.
