Little dude is so cute and smart. The puppy yelped because little dude gave him a correction with a slight touch.....told puppy enough. Little dogs love to run and have big dogs chase them but it causes a high energy in the dogs at the park and they all go crazy. I think he is a good dog but loves stirring up the dogs at the park. I think everyone left the park because they couldn't control their own dogs. And the owner will have to recognize when to slow little dudes roll at the park. At the dog park close to me there are two side by side fenced in areas one is for little dogs and the other is for big dogs. A lot of times little dogs are the cause of dog fights at dog parks because the prey drive kicks in when they all start running and chasing.

Joel "This isn't real life." Nope... it's like going to the batting cage. It feels real when you connect. But... It's not a real pitcher, no fans, no umpire, no teammates depending on you, no scoreboard, etc..... But it sure feel GOOD when you hit the ball square on the nose. And the cage does help your hitting. The coach makes corrections, your muscle memory is improved, you build a routine, you ditch bad habits...... Yep. Joel's house is like the batting cage.

@@sairhug I arrived at the dog park to witness a tiny little dog (Maltese)? that had just gotten bit by a Yellow Lab. He ultimately died (they took him to our vet). If your dog is the size of a German Shepherd or the grey dog in this video, then he is more likely to be the dog who gives another, smaller, dog a fearful experience (but hopefully not), as opposed to being the little dog who gets dominated and injured or killed by some big mystery dog you know nothing about. Taking a little dog into a dog park with big dogs you've never even seen before is an awful idea.

There was a dog like that, small chonk of muttley terrier mix that was trying to dominate all the dogs at the dog park, he was harrassing this about 40lb poodle (small standard) who was much bigger than him and I told him to quit it and then the fancy poodle leaned on my leg. Later that small muttly terrier peed on my back when I was sitting. A total punk: he was trying to put his head over every dogs neck/back. I talked to his owner. Weeks or months later I was back at the dog park again and this silly muttly terrier is all "Hi!" like he's my old friend . . . and then I realized it was the little punk that peed on me.

Hello Been following, love your videos. My question to you or anyone who may have an answer is How do i deal with dogs running up to my dog on walks, no matter how much i do the leash training and everything else that goes with it, i dont know how to deal with dogs running to him. Sometimes theres not even an owner in sight, it really angers me as makes it so difficult. Or owners are not even aware of their dog being away, i feel they thinkk as their dog has no aggressive issues, its ok to let them run around to anybody, also they have zero recall, so no matter how many times they call their dpgs they dont go. And by then my dog is at number 10, even if i go the other way it doesn't work as they often just follow. And if someone tell me one more time that its ok their dog is super friendly when i ask them to come get their dog, im just gonna let my dog loose. Obviously i wont but people are so frustrating.

You need to add a sand pit/area to have a different set of footing for those beach triggers! Mental and physical stimulation in general. I love it when working with satiating the digging cravings for Terriers-sometimes build sandpits or use kiddie pools filled with sand for people's backyards and those fox Terriers, Jack Russells and Hounds that just dig like crazy! It curbs certain behavioural issues! Your facility has almost everything anyways! Add a sand pit/faux beach too!

Adoptions isn't for everyone I think for some people who have certain living situations (as in the area and other people in the home) being able to go to a breeder for a breed that they have researched and know that they can accommodate is the best option... A lot of the reasons we see people on these channels with these trainers is because they don't know or didn't research the breed of dog they have.
@Legoishere
@Legoishere 2 жыл бұрын
@@lillieberger2883 I do however strongly support adoption. And think that if you are in a situation where it is an option, that is a great option. And a lot of breeds can be found in pounds and shelters if not locally to you they're usually good about networking to help you find what you're looking for. I was more saying you never know what you are getting with a rescue even knowing the breed, so in certain situations being able to go to a good breeder is better. However I do wish that in the dog community it was preached as much in the reptile community to research your breed always.!! You should never bring something home you haven't researched and set up for.!!

Hi in case Joel doesn't get to answer this I'll say: Yes. Joel said the dog is not supposed to sleep in ur bed if dog has been displaying too much dominance. It is part of being the boss that you get the big bed. Try searching Beckman Dog Training + "dominant" or "philosophy" also a LOT of the "Loose Leash" vids also explain a lot about dominance. This " Beckman Loose Leash " (search this) method and the discipline your dog gets doing it translates into better behavior all around. It reduces dominance, reactivity, resource guarding--changes everything. Good luck my friend🐾❤️

"Why is he worse in the dog park than here?", does territory have anything to do with it? Or is that a myth? My dog (neutered for some months now) still fixates on unneutered, younger males at the dog park. I clap and yell: "Hey", I put mine in a time-out. My dog now learned no to do it in my proximity but still goes after them when on a distance. He doesn't allow the other dogs move freely... So I'm not sure if your method is fixing a behavior or just stalling it. Altho I "like" the consequence methods. Interrupting him when he stares (precursor), seems also effective. Watching this makes me wonder of Winston is really the "aggressor" in those situations or if actually it's other owners 'allowing' their dog to go to far. If Winston gives a warning (growl) and the other dog doesn't listen I get why he would get mad! If I told someone enough and they kept at me, I'd get mad too! I wish all owners in social situations watched their own dogs and understood when it's time to bring them away from a dig who isn't enjoying the interaction - that would solve so many issues at dog parks/beaches etc. imho.

@@sage6336 It depends on the subject, I can't imagine the dog minds having it's behaviour described as spastic. A friend or even someone acting out will see the fun side. If you were to use it to insult someone because of their disability, then it becomes pejorative. If someone with a disability hears you call your dog a spastic, it's on them to be offended or not.

@@jacobhall979 really !!! and I thought I was a dinosaur , its on them be offended ??? by your reasoning calling a black dog N or Asian cat P would be ok as they wont be offended and your African or Asian neighbours are offended "its on them "
