I agree.. that little support tab/foot if broken can allow the module to move around enough to loosen connections

Even with AAM replacement the keys need to be resynced to the car for the remote to work . If the keys won't start the car that is a different issue. Does the key turn in the ignition and door locks ?

does the engine starter turn ? or will the engine not turn at all ?

@@jijinraj7796 I don't use whats ap. . but you can use twitter to contact me . I have a bad feeling your DAS module is bad . Start error on the dash is 99% caused by a bas Drive authorization system. As far as I know you would need Dealer level coding to replace the DAS module . I have never had to deal with that particular issue myself.

Judith Pinkham ....sorry I didn't show it ... It's quite simple. key in ignition, turn to second position where all the dash lights come on, but don;t start the car . Remove key and press and hold the lock button. While holding the lock button press the unlock button 5x. That should resync the key to the car. If it doesn't ,then the AAM is likely bad , but check the key fob batteries first . If the key batteries are good, and it won't resync ..usually the AAM is bad

sorry for the late reply . Check engine ground strap . Could also be a bad voltage regulator since 14.2 is getting near the higher end of charging voltage

MAF , crank sensor or cam position sensor . Most likely MAF if it starts but won't idle

On my scanner it also says implausible cam data do u know how the anti theft disables the car from starting

cam or can data ? if cam , the cam sensor is likely dead . It won't stay running if the cam position sensor isn't reading properly. DAS is a seperate box under the dash on 2001 and newer MLs

that's good because " can " would have referred to a canbus issue which would be much more difficult to diagnose . Cam position sensor is my guess as the issue

I can’t find a das module for my car or for sale and the the key has no contuity between the terminals on the key

My ML320 is a Canadian model with daytime running lights. So when the car is in Drive the lights all come on ( headlights tail and marker lights )whether it is dark out or not. They began to not come on unless I turned the light switch to on. then they began to flicker rapidly at all times , and the headlight relay was constantly buzzing under the hood, then the keyless stopped working . I knew all these functions are within the AAM along with wiper functions, auto door locking at 5 mph and rear defrost etc. It sounds like your AAM may be on its way out

Thanks. I am told to clean the negative conection at battery (which is rusted a bit) and look for anything that might be causing a short. I am going to replace cheap Ebay LED fog lights with regular H11's to see if that makes a difference b/c even with parking light on, i have an issue. But you may be right, it may be the AAM. Need to find the correct one for my USA spec 2002 Ml320. Thanks.

Hello! Can you fix it?

After making this vid I ended up with different answers . I can confirm the AAM worked properly with the exception of the rear wiper. The rear wiper will work when the front wipers are on and truck put into reverse, but not with the dash switch . Also of course the keyless entry needed to be programmed to match. I was told by one tech that that was in the reprogramming , and another that the 2 digit # had to match . The dealer parts dept said the 2 digit # was not necessary to match . The dealer wouldn't reprogram the AAM unless purchased from them , and the only indy Benz tech near me is always so busy , he couldn't find the time ( I wanted to film the procedure ) . A guy near me offered to buy the truck at a great $ and didnt care about the rear wiper ,or keyless, so I lost the chance to get a definitive answer. It sucks because it was an answer I really wanted to sort out .

@@fupabox damn. I was so curious. However. The video is still a big help. But if you are interested: I buyed a xprog m programmer for 50 bucks. With that you can transfer the dara from your defect AAM to the new. Actually it is like swapping the memory. Your new AAM will become a "twin" of your old one. I will write later when i am done. Waiting for the new AAM.

@@leeroybodell2403 I tried the xprog but couldn't get it to erase/read/write the memory. It seems that I had to unsolder the chip, reprogram it in loose condition and solder it back. That was a bit too high for my level. However. I buyed for 140 bucks a FVDI Abrites Commander clone from China, which supports key learning for ML. Worked well. No .. the pre 2000 AAMs may need reprogramming to start because the ignition coding is inside the earlier AAMs

How about the my2000?

It's possible the little radio antenna plug on the AAM is unplugged or rubbing against something. The radio antenna in under the rear tailgate cover and can get a poor ground and cause static. The license plate bulb holders near it can rust and cause a poor ground to the antenna amp

they are more likely to go in the first few years of production , but they can go bad in any year . jump starting is a cause of them going bad (power surge) . I'm going to have a friend peek at the old one and see if the capacitors are bad . I think the caps that supply power to the memory on that board get old and toasty.

fupabox how much to reset the key fob? Yeah I agree jump starting cars is risky. I usually carry a jump pack because I don't want anyone hooking up straight to my cars for a jump lol.

I'm trying to find someone to do it.. Have a few guys with the proper SDS , but they have no time to fit me in ATM .. I'm going to hopefully vid the process of re-config thge AAM and keys . I believe the constant on lighting right now is a setting in the AAM. Only thing not good right now is the lights on with engine start , no auto locking at 10kph (which I'm assuming is a configurable setting for both ) keyless entry , and oddly rear wiper ? rear wiper works when front wipers are on and truck put in reverse.. but the dash switch for rear wash and wipe does nothing ? odd, but possibly a setting as well.hopefully. I'm actually going to the wrecking yard today and I want to photo the wires going to the AAM on the truck I took it off, just to see if there is any different wires in the plugs from mine . The truck it came off was a 2001 320 , so should be no different . Also I recall a 2003 Ml in there with a sweet front push bar.. fingers crossed it's still there

fupabox I know you will get it. Like we say in Massachusetts, you are wicked smaht lol... I would love to get a star diagnostic system. I hear there are some made in China ones that are knockoffs that might work. I know my manual has a procedure to reprogram auto locking ones the car starts driving. I have to take a look at it.

It was replaced .. no one could re-program for the remote locking , but otherwise everything worked perfectly
