In this video, I show you how to minimize early release. I'll walk you through the correct body posture and arm position, which are crucial for a controlled release. I'll introduce simple but effective drills to adjust your trail leg movement and use a barrier to correct the club's path. These exercises are designed to retrain your muscle memory for a stronger, more efficient club release.

That is truely an amazing well designed drill. I tried it with a plastic ball which forced my right shoulder to continue down. I think you and Eric referred to it as emptying the ear of water. Big thanks again Trevor.

Hey Trevor, do you have any tips for people struggling to implement these drills into their on-course swings? I have been doing online lessons for about a year and my handicap has increased. I feel like I can do the drills decently with a shorter swing, but on the course instincts kick in and it's the same old story. I live in south FL so I will try to come see you in Aventura one of these days

My biggest thing that I’d say for implementing change and taking it to the course is know what the changes is doing to ball flight, know how to project and predict the shot at hand (based on ball position, handle position and face) and most of all how practice swings are used on the course! Would love to have you visit down here in south Florida! Let me know how I can help! TS

Great video. Is the tour avg measurement of 18" based on toe line to golf ball?

Trevor, Ive had great improvement with your help on starting the setup at impact for my irons, eliminating early extension. Having trouble with woods and driver still. Is it possible to use the same concept with the woods/driver of presetting address to impact point? What adjustments since you arent hitting down? Thanks .

The driver I would start around 33” as far how far to stand away from it. The swing plane will be to be lower for driver for sure. I’d start with that, let me know how it goes and also if you have any questions on it! Thanks for the comment!
@tsgolf

I just realized I responded to the wrong question with my previous answer. It is ok to do this impact drill with driver. I would not start with the handle any more forward than the inside of the left leg. No more than 70% of your pressure starts forward. Begin doing this with half swings, three-quarter swing, and move it into full swings. A big key to this drill is starting with the trail shoulder externally rotated, which places the elbow close to midline (center of the spine). Sorry for the miscommunication I hope this helps.

I was sooo far away from the ball like 26 inches with 7 iron I am on a weight loss healthy life change now working on getting rid of my gut and I think I stood far away to swing around it. I’ve moved to 20 inches away and it’s so uncomfortable but I can see where the huge improvement can eventually take over thank you
@ndfaninsb1

so 18 inches away on the 7 iron. About how far away for driver and say lob wedge?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 5 ай бұрын
33” for driver, wedge is about 16-16 1/2”. Remember this is only an average. Not every player has to be in this area. Just reference for you. Thanks for the comment and question!

I find that the closer I stand to the ball the better I strike it and the more compression I get but I also start shanking about more and can’t figure out why?

Need to measure and make sure the swing plane angle (roughly estimated) is around 60* or less at impact. Make sure the handle is standing to tall because of how close you are to it at the address position

Any idea the measurement for a driver? I'm 6'4 and always revert to standing too far from the ball. Especially on the driver

@@temporarymonk4022 that would just be a starting baseline of what your average is from toe line to center of the ball. Not where you have to be, just a starting baseline. This very well could be to close to the ball but a place to start from w/ 7-iron

Trevor, love your content. Was watching an AMG video and they had 29" as the average Tour distance as 29" from the ball with a 7 iron. 18" versus 29" is a big difference. Here's the video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r9V2dq-Il9O3gok.html Not sure how the time stamping works so if it's not there the time is around 08:50 in.
@patiossa
@patiossa 6 ай бұрын
I think Trevor is using distance from the toes and AMG is using distance from mid ankles. The difference is about the size of a foot which accounts for pretty much all of the difference.
@xxthadeucexx
@xxthadeucexx 6 ай бұрын
@@patiossa Ahh. I could see that. My feet aren't that big so maybe that's why the distance difference seemed much larger for me.

I measure from the toe line to the center of the golf ball. I also understand where AMG measures from the ankle bone to the ball line. As long as we have something that is consistent that we have the ability to check, I’d say that’s what is important! Thanks for sharing and for the feedback!
