How To Mix Grey Wash For Black and Grey Tattoos
Tattooing black and grey tattoos is cool and so is grey wash. It is important to use the same grey wash set up for all of your tattoos so they will all heal the same.

Ever since I got rid of my Medium tone. The separation in tones have made my tattoos look more solid with contrast. Lightest of light next to the darkest of dark.

Thanks so much dude. Thats almost exactly how i do it too. I've been tattooing on my own, self taught for about 5 or 6 years. In the past 3 years I've become completely dedicated to tattooing. I'd love to find an apprenticeship, bit it's just hard right now with covid n everything going on to find a ship that could use me. Now I've never had anyone show me how to do anything. I've just read books, n watched a few videos. But pretty much taught myself. I've heard that you break down the blacks with water or a solution, but never saw anyone set up their grey wash till now. I particularly like doing colorful, new schoolish type of art. But i have done a couple black n grey tattoos. I just wanted to see if i was doing what most people did. Once again, thanx so much. I really like your channel n find your videos helpful🤘🏻

Generally your grey wash will lighten up when it heals. It always appears darker the day you do it. The more you water your black down the lighter it will heal.

I asked the tattoo artist ive been going to for a while now about this and he told me, to only use black ink, no water. The darkness just depends on how long or how many times you go over the area. I think its a bit more consistent and I get nicer values.

I mean you can do that you just have to be really careful. Everyone has their own methods. I do that when I do stipple shading. But when it comes to smooth b&g I use washes
@chriscoop6852
@chriscoop6852 2 жыл бұрын
My main guy uses a drop system and another guy I go to just uses black and different stipple techniques. I have roses from both of them and I can vouch that the rose with b&g drop system healed way nicer then the stippled rose. They’re both beautiful pieces but my skin tone looks way better with actual b&g vs just black ink with stippling shading. The stippled one healed like it’s almost “out of focus” looking.

SO WHERE IS THE HOW TO MIX?? as soon as you dip the needle in you still have straight black ink or residue of straight black in, then you use diluted black ink??😶 that still does not answer the MIXING, the terminology MIXING means to put to different items together then stir to create another creation AKA MIXING!!😅😅
