Good video man 🔥 you explained yourself very well at the start that this was just amateur way to blast it to -1 LUFS so don’t worry about the comments that obviously didn’t listen to that part. Keep it up 💯

Just use the preset Clear Master RMS in Maximus on Master when u open a project (turn the Saturation Celling in that preset to 0dB because the default is -0.2dB). After that, balance the Gain (Gain Staging) of every elements in your song. Use less sounds and picking which GOOD-SOUNDING Sounds will be the Main Sounds and vice versa. Plus, using Bass sounds or any sounds that contain basic shapes like Sine, Saw, Square, Triangle,...etc, when you heavily processed that sound (Ex: 10-20 plugins for 1 main sine wave + square bass), you're still gonna get a clean sounding Bass, for that you can push the Gain even louder. You will get a better mix with much more clarity, and the dynamics of your song will be preserved even when it almost hit 0 LUFS. The frequency of sounds also contribute to the loudness [Ex: Keys of the song (Low sounds like Subbass in keys D to G sound better and have more energy than the rest), Higher Sound means more loudness but will introduce harshness] Try all of the things above and pls let me know about your opinions on this. I've use the above techniques and it work for me.

Good, but it sounds little squashed (only my opinion, don't matter). When I make hard sounding genres, I just clipping the sounds their maximum (point when it starts squashing), and then making volume balance between loud sounds and quiet. Then I just editing frequencies by EQ, and making lows-EQ automation (this is important thing to control the lows on the parts). The result is -3.5 LUFS in short term, and clean sound. (I avoid any compression on these genres, because it's uncontrollable thing, it needs lots of attention)

It's definitely an interesting way to master. You get slammed by Spotify or other services for having such a loud mix though... Which is a shame, since I love heavy riddim and adore hardstyle (variants). I get the appeal of loudness, but you can also do that while retaining dynamic range. It's a hard balance and I don't think there's a single solution. Push the song as hard as you think it should be, and dial it back ever so slightly. Let the song decide :D

Ngl I feel like a lot of your songs sound too messy (and now I understand why), so i don't think this is a good way to mix, but good video ig

No offense but hitting -1 Lufs just sounds so unpleasant to ears. Do masters really need to be that freaking loud? What happened to dynamics?

It really on what you yourself like. I know Svdden Death’s masters can reach up to -1 LUFS, but the ”golden numbers” are often in between -7 and -4 (for dubstep and bass heavy tracks). Its also worth to note that some of the most critically acclaimed albums (like Daft Punk’s RAM or Steely Dan’s Aja) hit around -11 LUFS.

artists like svdden death are clipping -1 even 0 LUFs these days. Its a necessary technique if you want to make heavy genres like dubstep and riddim.
