@@FrostyEyeKandi I've been struggling with putting too much varnish into my 8300. And dispersing with too much varnish.. Josonja... watching you mix today, everything just clicked. I am in the shelee paid member group. I was about to give up the other day. I have a level surface. I thought I was mixing right. And I was not. Even though I took the class, even though I also follow Kathleen Miller. So, let's hope what clicked whrn you explained the tube paints and the varnish and the PM today, worked, because I have a beautiful tile sitting in my leveling board. I am nervous to go peek at it. Thank you so much! This paint consistency is best for the Swipe & Bloom Techniques, most other techniques call for a thinner consistency so from video you can add more varnish or water (in some cases, Dutch pour for one) to thin your pouring medium out ❤️😊🙏

@FrostyEyeKandi
@FrostyEyeKandi Жыл бұрын
Thank you Lady Jax 😊 you could try the Polycrylic although I had issues with cracking when I used it. The Varathane Tripple thick would be an alternative to the Behr8300 and not to be mixed with the Behr as they are both very thick and need to be thinned down with a varnish. You can also use just US Floetrol & Behr to great results ❤️😊❤️ #13 No Varnish Pouring Medium Fluid Art Acrylic Bloom - minimizing mess & clean up tutorial 101 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z7FgeNOo2Ze3img.html

Thank you for the tip about opening the pigments with the wet microfiber. I can do that easy. I have a very serious lung problem which is why I stay away from house paints like Behr- do you have any safer less fragrant alternatives? They are so strong in scent I breathe it in even if I can’t smell it.
@FrostyEyeKandi
@FrostyEyeKandi 2 жыл бұрын
You are very welcome Mary, and I’m very sorry to hear about your lung problem. Unfortunately they all have a smell but with the super low VOC (volatile organic compounds) laws in North America they are much safer than they used to be. May I suggest using them in a well ventilated area to avoid the fumes? ❤️😊🙏
@mcnoneya
@mcnoneya 2 жыл бұрын
@@FrostyEyeKandi it’s okay it just means I have to be careful with things like powders and super strong scented stuff. I can’t really smell very well but I breathe it in. Luckily my mother/caretaker(I’m pretty independent but she’s there if I need her) Anyway she has a great sense of smell for the both of us, we have a little joke “if Mary can smell it you know it’s strong” lol I’ve played with lots mediums of art including pastels and charcoals and I have to take precautions with those too. I guess house paint in general is just intimidating it’s so .. “professional” and I just don’t see myself there yet.. I started in December. I’ve only ever worked with regular artists acrylic paints and watercolors. When the house is getting painted I skedaddle. House paint seems so scary and intimidating and the pails seem heavy. Right NOW I work mostly with 4x4- 5x7 and at least 1 8x10 canvases as I’m still fairly new and on the petite side so using huge canvases is a little nerve wracking. Kinda like the size of the paintings on your fridge in the background of your last streaming video. I’m dipping my toe into this art form slowly but I have so many questions. The Facebook group has been so helpful especially Bridget Martilla. So sweet I feel like I’m constantly bombarding her with questions but she’s so kind and willing to answer. Of course you always respond to my questions here as well. Sorry for the long comment. I get long winded at night or when tired. Have a great evening
