Knowing what products compliment your hair is so true. I recently brought Uncle Funkys Daughter (BTW: I’m waiting on this video sis 👀) & my hair loves it. Had to switch up my product game and decided to go with them. Best decision ever! My hair has been moisturized for days due to moisture retention! These steps DO work. Listen to Crystal people!

What is moisture training 1:33 Tips for moisture training: 1. Be consistent. Hair routine, diet, exercise, etc. 2:10 2. Deep condition 2:57 3. Water.. & warm water 4:21 4. Less stripping shampoos 5:10 5. Apply leave-in, in shower, after warm water rinse 7:05 Styling 7:48 6. Don't let hair air dry & know products hair likes 7:52 8:05 Technique, layering, and learning/knowing hair SEAL THAT CROWN! p.s. sleep care My own addition: Watch for the day your hair becomes dry, "go back" and moisturize hair again for that week/s. -Green Beauty. Watch where damage comes from. Not just sleep, brushes, hairstyles, hair accessories (metal, elastic, etc.) Using trims to your advantage (i.e. After a normal trim of maintenance, you should have no dead ends (evidently,) if you happen upon dead ends soon after, look at what your doing to still cause it.) Also, find what moisture and seal method works best for you and your hair, LCO, LOC, PMP (Curly Chemistry)

Thank you for your honesty and your willingness to help the natural hair community. I have taken some notes and will apply your routine, I have been doing a pretty good routine with making sure that I deep condition my hair, but putting my leave in conditioner in the shower will be added. Thank you very much. You make so much sense in your hair knowledge. I have deleted many girls, but you I will keep. Please continue to educate those who really want to learn. Thank you

Thx so much for the tip about the leave-in conditioner in the shower because I normally wash my hair, condition/deep condition, rinse with cold water then get out of shower and then apply leave in conditioner when my hair shaft is already closed because of the cold water.❤️
@PINKDiva88
@PINKDiva88 3 жыл бұрын
Stop rinsing with cold water. You want your hair to gradually cool down. Shocking it with cold water ( depending on your porosity) just shuts you hair off from receiving moisture. You don't have to apply your leave in , in the shower on wet hair if you go back underneath the dryer after you've put your leave in. You can treat it like a second deep condition only with less time and a leave in.

Hi great video, I am wondering if your individual hairs are fine? Mine are fine, low porosity/build-up prone and high density - so they get tangled and dry very easily. I don't usually use butters or very moisturising creams for fear that they will weigh down my curls however my hair is often very dry in some places, i.e. at the root, after my wash and go. Do you recommend a pre-poo/using heavier creams/butters?

Does anybody else have a problem with applying their leave-in conditioner in the shower? I’ve tried it and my is just too wet and it shrinks the most when I’m done styling. I just prefer my hair to damp or towel-dried for like 2-5 minutes before I begin styling. I find that my hair soaks up the products better when its damp.
@TheSall101

I’m definitely the same way! Especially when do wash and gos. I even get under my hooded dryer with a shower cap to help my products to absorb better before using a gel.

JaShae Hall when I go back under the hooded dryer with my (leave-in,Moisturizer, or styler) I only stay for 10mins max. Then I take one section from under the shower cap at a time and add the gel last. This really helps my low porosity hair retain moisture.
@PINKDiva88

You can shake and squeeze some of the water out of your hair, then add your leave in. Adding it to wet hair helps to spread the leave in and it also allows heavy handed people to use less product. In my opinion adding products to soaking wet hair doesn't always work for low porosity hair, due to the water taking up too much space in the hair. Which cause the products to sit on the outside of the hair instead of penetrating it. Adding products to damp hair works best for low porosity in my opinion. Low po naturals can add products to wet hair, it just can't be soaking wet hair. I mean if our hair is filled and swollen with water, how much of the product is getting into it? If you prefer to add your leave in outside the shower on damp hair. Then right after you've added your leave in put your shower cap on and either sit under the dryer for 10 minutes to let the leave in soak in. Or you use your body heat by wrapping your head up. You don't have to follow everything she says. Do what works for you , take her tips and modify them to fit into your routine.

Hi I enjoy your channel and respect your opinion on afro hair. I recently watched a video by Natural Nadine she states that most African American hair is high porosity by nature, when a lot of us are thinking our hair is low porosity (if it hasn't been relaxed or color treated). She references crime scene investigations where police can determine the race of a suspect based on their hair noting that most African American hair has raised cuticles ( high porsity). Please comment on this and tell me your opinion. Thank You!

I know you get a lot of messages hopefully you see this. I have a question about natural hair (lol obviously) but I’m currently on medication that is stripping all the oils my body produces and my hair is now starting to be affected. Others have told me that I need to deep condition once a week because of this. I just watched your video on moisture training and retention, since my natural oils are being affected should I only cowash and then do an actual shampoo wash once a month? Would love your thoughts Thank you

I enjoyed this video, could be just me, but I found the video to be extremely loud. I would suggest possibly lowering the gain on your mic, so that way the video can be enjoyed on a louder volume? I had my volume at a normal level, but the vocal track has a lot of punch. I had to lower my volume to prevent the video from blaring, but I lost the ability to understand you clearly. Just constructive criticism and hope this isn't taken as an attack. ❤️ It may just be me so continue with whatever you find to be best 😊😊😊 Continue making great content!
