NATURAL HAIR CALENDAR AVAILABLE HERE www.afrikancuriosity.co.za
This is a detailed video on how to determine your #hairtype and #hairporosity . Then how to moisturize your #natural4chair correctly and how to retain moisture and growth. I know winter is approaching and some of you still don’t know how to moisturize or retain length, I used #alovera because that helps grow my hair.
So I hope this helps and please keep sane during this global #lockdown.

It’s so great to see black women enjoying and celebrating our hair. Started my natural hair journey last year. I am now fully natural with absolutely no regrets. I am loving my natural hair. Went natural 20 years ago for 8 years but couldn’t maintain it. Back then there weren’t so many videos on black hair care. I appreciate these videos so very much.

I’m so happy I found your channel. When I detangle my hair, I always noticed that when I finger detangle it, I don’t need to go further and use a comb/detangle brush. But I still ended up using a detangler brush because my sister use to tell me that’s how to do it. I now noticed that we have different hair types so what works for her, will not work for me. Thank you as well for explaining the porosity. I’m 4c low porosity. 😊

Beautiful, beautiful woman and gorgeous, gorgeous hair! I have high porosity hair and know how to care for it but I couldn’t figure out why the same products weren’t working for my daughter’s hair until I figured out she has low porosity hair! Now, I only use products without protein and focus on moisture and wash her hair with a gentle shampoo to lift the cuticle. To moisturize her hair, I use the LGCO method to twist and style her hair: liquid, gel, cream, oil. I use water, Kinky Curly Custard, my homemade creamy protein free leave-in, and organic palm oil. Her hair stays moisturized until the next wash day. Thank you for sharing what works for you: your twists are so juicy and healthy 🤩🤩🤩!

Great video. Loved the way you explained porosity and finally I realize I'm a low porosity. Can Iask that you do a full week video showing us what and how you take care of your hair? My hair is extremely dry and coarse. I now apply store bought aloe vera juice and add a few oils etc which assist in keeping it moisture. However, it seems I have to do this everyday, which is time consuming. I would also appreciate a video of how you deal with those single strand knots.
@tshidiradebe
@tshidiradebe 4 жыл бұрын
Now these are responses I live for 🥺. Thank you MP, I will upload a video next week, showing y’all how I take care of my hair during the week, how I moisturize midweek etc... When coming to dryness: I suggest that use products that are water based, also, how are you moisturizing your hair? Are you using the loc or LCO or loco method? If your hair is extremely dry I think we need to look at how often do you deep condition and are you using a moisturizing deep conditioner? Also, I think you could invest in either a very hydrating shampoo or just move to co- washing. And Lastly, I think getting a hand held steamer could really work for you 🤔 And I will also work on a video that shows how I deal with still strand knots, thank you for two video suggestions ♥️

@tshidiradebe
@tshidiradebe 3 жыл бұрын
Lmao lol 😂 it’s okay, some people are better off not knowing which porosity they are because once they know, they start doing too much so it’s okay. Did you find out if you are low porosity or high? Fun fact: if you have 4c hair, the likelihood of you being Low porosity is high because most people naturally have low porosity hair. At sometimes, high porosity is due to using too much heat on your hair etc, then it changes from low to high 💁🏽‍♀️. I hope this makes sense😊

Hey Tsidi nice to finally see an SA blocker with my hair type and porosity😁 Where can I get the shea butter
@tshidiradebe
@tshidiradebe 4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I’m using raw Shea butter and processed Shea butter, You can get the processed Shea butter from Organic stores or buy the ANiM brand from clicks The raw Shea butter I get from overseas but I’m looking for a local supplier, I’m close to finding one though 😌

i love your videos! shea butter was a huge help to my hair and I think I'm going to start doing twist again to help me retain moisture and length!! you're doing great!! p.s.- can you do a video about scalp treatment and how to refresh your twists (not refreshing is my downfall)
@tshidiradebe
@tshidiradebe 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, Shea butter is my go to for almost everything. Pro tip- refresh your twists every three weeks, to avoid hectic frizzing and locking. If you wait to too long, you become inpatient when taking them down because they are all tangled and all 😊. I will, in the near future 😊
@chinelolovesu
@chinelolovesu 3 жыл бұрын
@@tshidiradebe omg thank you for responding!! When you say refresh that’s just touching up with water, oil and product right? Or do you wash your hair in the twists? My problem is that I leave them in forever bc I don’t want to take them down but my scalp will be itchy and build-up will start to form
@tshidiradebe
@tshidiradebe 3 жыл бұрын
No no no, you must wash her hair if you think it’s dirty. Let me explain something: if your scalp is dirty, it’s very hard for hair to grow because it’s layered with product buildup. So please wash your hair when it’s dirty 😊.

@nicnothingnice
@nicnothingnice 4 жыл бұрын
@@tshidiradebe I did acv rinses when I had dreads but not afro natural. I have a feeling it will tangle badly if it too stripped and squeaky clean but I'm not sure. And no to coconut oil in my hair if I can help it. I massage on scalp to prepoo but not intentionally applying to my hair. It doesn't absorb. Jamaican black castor oil is my favorite oil. I'm still not sure about porosity because I think the back is different than the front 🤷🏾‍♀️ took my whole life to learn this stuff but I had to because stylists never know what to do!

Thank you, no it doesn’t, when I apply products in the winter, they first apply white and dissolves into my hair when dry. When I undo them, my scalp will be the most dirty and I don’t have the whitish products close to my roots Secondly, here is a video lol… kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aNqCfpClntnYk4E.html

Hi Shanice. I’m glad that you found my channel 😌. I use three types of Shea butters, so I suggest that you purchase the ANiM brand as it’s available at clicks. I am actually looking for a store that sells raw Shea butter locally so I can support but I’m not finding any 😩. Because mine is sent to me from overseas 😬

Hey Karen, so I’m not sure if you are in South Africa or not but the best shampoo I have used is the Organics Shampoo, it’s moisturizing and the Afrosense Shampoo, it’s a healthy balance of clarifying and moisturizing. Deep conditioner : it will be the Afrobotanics deep conditioning treatment and I’d say the low porosity line from Shea moisture and the Dark and lovely Deep conditioner which I just recently reviewed, I was shocked 😳. I hope this helps.

Thank you 😊, I leave my mini twists in for about 3 weeks and a half or just 3 weeks, wash my hair and retwist. I moisturize every third day sometimes I stretch it to four days 😬🤫depends on the season 🙂 If I don’t refresh them, they tend to lock on the roots a bit and I have a ton of frizz so that could also cause unnecessary tangles 😊
