In this video I explain how I record motocycle video using one, two or three cameras, some placed on the motorcycle, the helmet, and the chest. This is a huge subject, so I focus on camera placement, tips for effective video capture and give my reasons for my preferences. If you like this video, let me know, and I'll make subsequent videos about other aspects of motovlogging like editing, b-roll, cutting etc... Thanks for watching.

Thanks for doing this video. I found it very helpful. I'm doing a tour of Wales next year and was hoping to film it. Thanks.

Really interesting video! Can't believe the shots you're getting with that out-rigged 3D setup -- fantastic! Out today for a couple of blasts... Autumnal runny nose on both rides.

Great video. You made so many good points. To do this well, you need to be passionate about cinematography as well as motorcycling. I just want to record my riding for myself and my friends, but it's a very complicated process, as you point out. On my last trip, I was all set up to record everything, but I was going to skip the first 100 miles, which was freeway. When went to start recording, I realized that I had forgotten the GoPro! But being freed from worrying about the camera and battery and all those details meant that I really enjoyed the trip by just focusing on the riding. Like many endeavours, the ones who are skilled at it make it look easy, which you do. I can't afford and don't want to invest in the camera equipment and time needed to learn to make great videos. I'd rather just invest in my bikes and the time to ride. Also, I love the shots of mid-Vancouver Island. I've got many memories of those roads.

I love the views vloggers can get from a motorcycle platform. I have thought it would be great to do so as well to create shareable memories for friends and family of some of my road trips. However, I have to be honest with myself that I am just not into doing all that work setting things up let alone the work of editing. And you're correct, I am that guy with a GoPro (lovely gift from wife) that sits in a box (used only once) and when I rode the Tail of the Dragon I completely forgot to even bring it with me. Do you need another GoPro?

Some Tubers switch between different shots too quickly and don't allow us viewers to enjoy each shot. If they'd allow a little more time with each shot, I'd enjoy it much more. I don't need narrative as much as I want to feel as though I'm the one in the seat riding.
