Thank you SO much for this video! I haven't been able to use my RS2 very well for the past months, so therefore left it on the shelf quite a lot. While I watched your video I noticed you had the focus motor rod on the other side of where I had it, so I just copied your setup 1:1 and balanced it and it works so good now :D Before I even had a tilta counter weight on it but I don't need that at all anymore!

Great video, but is it possible to connect Raveneye and Samsung t5 to camera at the same time? I mean that there is only one usb type-c port on blackmagic cameras.

Hello, Rs2 is a great gimbal. RS3 has extra features such as auto lock, Bluetooth, and don't remember the others that probably will help in a way to speed up a little bit the process (depending on the camera you are using.) Probably the best reason to acquire RS3 is because it gives you a little bit of space to accommodate a bigger camera, but not a deal breaker when you are on a budget. If you are on a budget, RS2 is just perfect and it will be an asset for many more years in my opinion.

@SoIDoNotForget thank you for your reply bro I have a bmpcc6k with sigma 18-35mm which is unfortunately a heavier setup but I don't use it professionally so I'm not sure if I should spend all that money for rs3 pro where I can buy rs2 used to do the same job.

@@RogiReels sure thing. Yeah, especially if you are not going professional thing. RS2 is just fine. However, in the event you start doing professional gigs. RS2 were used in professional shoots. I seen it. Take care!

great video am struggling to get the camera onto the rs2 , the bmcc 6k pro , did you need to buy the smallrig stretchable baseplate ?? as the camera makes you put it to the left so it has room, otherwise too much to the right and camera wont move?? if your using the rs2 stock baseplate , i got the 3249 and although does the job its scraped the paintwork off the rs2 , what am i doing wrong??

Thanks! No, I didn't. I'm actually use the Tilta cage I'm able to fit it perfect. I mean I still push the camera all the way to the end but that's about it. Also, keep in mind that I'm using the follow focus motor to balance the camera. I hope that helps. Thanks for your patience, I responded late because I'm out of the country for a couple of days.

What about lens support? If you set it up to smooth, it always asks to have the lens support in place.

It is recommended to use it. Honestly it's up to you to use it. In my case I haven't use it and still get great results.

I haven't try but I'm sure you can. Maybe the DJI follow focus motor needs to be removed and replace it for a diferent one to counter balance the camera on the same side.

great video!! i'm planning to set mine up BMPCC 4k + sigma 18 - 35. Did the rod for the manual focus come with the RS2? also, do i need a cage if i'm not going to put the T5? thanks!

Thanks!! I actually purchase the combo so It came with the rod and the motor. If you are not planing to use the T5, you don't nee a cage. Have fun!

Hey, thanks for the video. I have your exact same setup with the 6k pro and the sigma, on tilta cage but I can't seem to get my rs2 focus motor to reach the focus gear on the sigma. How did you get that to work?

It's a little bit tricky. What I do is, to remove half of the Tilta cage, move the camera as much as I can to the back and push all the way to the right. All this based on the balance, of the camera with the RS2, "sometimes" you have to scarify a little bit of the balance here and there, but after doing calibration if it doesn't give you an error you should be good to go.

@@SoIDoNotForget Yeah, I got it balanced easily enough. Just need to get the focus motor to reach the focus gear ring that is on my Sigma. It looks like you have a different focus gear than the supplied DJI one. That one is too small. What adjustable focus gear ring do you use?

Hello sorry for the late respond. It is a little bit tricky. I just push the limits by positioning the camera all the way against the Ronin side arm.

Besides the record button, the Focus/zoom, ISO, Aperture and Shutter which you can only assign one at a time,

I have same camera, same baseplate, same lens....same everyting...and im not able to put there a focus motor on your side with 2 screws attached....when i attach the rail holder on 2 screws i need about 1-2mm to get the focus motor on the lens and i was not able to figure it out.....what am i doing wrong?? and 1-2mm not in a length of rail but im not able to stick the focus wheel on the focus ring because its just too far.....

I'm using the Tilta plate. I'm sure you are using the same as well. I remember sliding the camera all the way to the right in order for the motor to reach the focus ring attachment. It's a little tricky though.

I don't think is cheating, is just an alternative way to do it. In fact, that's precisely why there is an option to remove half of the cage. Just to play with it to make it work.
