A Graphics Card (GPU) is one of the most expansive component in a PC besides the CPU. One way to truly admire it is to mount it vertically!
I am using a Lian Li PCI-E 4.0 GPU Vertical Riser specifically for the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Mini Casing.

Nice build! Pretty much almost have the same exact parts except I have the Uni Fans. Also not sure if thats a 3080Ti but also have the Vision as well!

@@mannyfresh7065 GPU prices last year were quite ridiculous and it was difficult to get a Vision. Had to choose between a 3060 & 3080 😶

the vertical mount could have improved the airflow in a case with bottom to top or top to bottom airflow but they made a wide bracket that prevents that from happening. cant believe they messed that up. Its no diffrence than having the GPU sit in its standard position. So people have to buy a cutting-tool aswell to cut out the bracket! just why does the bracket had to be so wide? there is no additional nounting slots on it.

Hello everything is fine ? I use a 360mm water cooler at the top, so the motherboard is a little lower. Do you think it is possible to place the gpu vertically with this configuration? Thank you.

Did you notice and temperature differences of the GPU from horizontal to vertical?

Not at all. It's safe to mount it vertically with this casing

@@rolandlee I think his question isn’t about safety but what were the temp differences? From what I’ve seen ppl report either same or slightly better gpu temps at cost of cpu temp being slightly more. We’re talking 2-3 degC. Curious what you saw w your setup

Idk if it’s just me but I tend to struggle trying to mount my evga ftw3 3070 ti idk if it’s because it’s too bulky or what cause it interferes a lot with the pcie riser cable

Strange, I've seen people mounting 3070s into this casing without much of an issue. In fact it looks more aggressive due to its size

Nice walkthrough bud! Hey have question about the mount where you place the GPU, is it adjustable like can you move it towards the glass panel of the case to have a clearance for the CPU fan? I don’t have my AIO as of the moment hence Im using the Cooler Master Hyper 212. Or its just fixed on that position?

Yes you can. The Lian Li mount bracket that I've gotten allows you to do that ☺

If it’s just a temporary solution you should be fine but if you put the GPU to close to the Glas it will have no room for Airflow and will get to hot. So be careful with that.😉

I've seen people installing it in the 011 Dynamic but not the Mini or Air. Best is to get the riser directly from Lian Li to avoid any disappointment later.

I'm sure it can but just that you need to take into consideration of that 6900xt's weight if you want to mount it vertically. I've seen people mounting 3080 vertically & it's good.

Is there something that i can place under the gpu mount so i can still install pcie devices? I have a wifi card under the gpu but i cant screw it into anything.

It's a little bit difficult to answer. Really depends on how big your device is if you want slot it below the GPU. The bottom fans can be an obstruction based on my setup. If without the fans, I'm sure you can something small such as a Wifi card 🙂

@rolandlee At the moment my wifi card is leaning on the bottom fan so that kinda works 😂 I still have a PCIe slot above the card but I can't really put something in it because it will just hang there and probably break off. I wish lian li would make a thingy so we can still screw pcie devices underneath the vertical mount.

Do you think you'll run into any issues with a 40 series GPU vertical mounted with your AIO mounted with the tubes coming from the bottom?

definitely, considering 40xx is such a huge GPU with my current casing. Also they'll be always debates on how the AIO tubes should be positioned. I had the tubes at the top previously.

@@rolandlee nah just the length of the gpu mount, pretty much I wanna have a different gpu mount on top of the vertical lian li vertical mount but the mount ima use uses magnets to stay in place and it's 7.5 inches, however the lian li mount I need to soppurt doesn't look bigger than 7.5 inches so I'm afraid the mount won't fit on top, sorry if this doesn't make sense

@@JesseTryna Sounds that you are doing something special there. If I'm understanding you correctly, I guess it wont fit as this is not big casing. Perhaps the Dynamic XL casing could do the job.

U should not have Vader in the build, it is white so either a stormtrooper or the rebels :P but yeah that is very subjective. :)

I'm afraid not. You'll need a specific backplate/bracket for the normal O11D. Check this link out. lian-li.com/product/o11d-1/

Can you use the area underneath to mount more PCI-e slots?

Depending on your mobo, for my case I can still mount another small card device into the PCIE 3.0 underneath but I'm not going to do that as it might affect & block airflow coming from the bottom fans.

It's for my wife's build and I was going to give her my old Elgato HD60 Pro to mount there but then I realized I didn't buy a motherboard with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth for her build. I was hoping to mount both cards using the 1x and 16x ports at the bottom since both are single slot and low profile. The fans will be three 120mm intake at the bottom, four 140mm intake at the back, and three 120mm at the top. Cooling shouldn't be an issue in that configuration.

It's the healthiest position with best results if you are mounting the radiator at the front or side of the casing, however it doesn't look very nice.

lol mines on the bottom I have no problems so far but I cant put it at the top my ram sticks get in the way

Btw, you’re creating air bubbles to settle in the aio part by your cpu by having the radiators hose below it

I do hear air bubbles sometimes but rare & this is probably the best AIO position if you are not mounting the radiator on top of the casing

@@rolandlee jayz has already debunked that. It’s better to have the radiator pump up on top instead of bottom. All you’re doing is making the life of your aio much shorter

hey man I know you mean well, but I see these comments so many times from ppl who watched Gamers Nexus video. He made a follow up that I highly suggest and so did JayzTwoCents. Yes that is ideal having the radiator hoses at the bottom, but even Gamers Nexus sadi its not practical always, so having the Pump Below the top of the radiator is what you can do.
