In the air mini there is room for an atx psu, while in the 011 mini only the SFX/SFX-L psu and thats why ill buy the air mini

Thank you so much for doing a video like this. So detailed, informative and a great comparison video. I was really stuck on deciding whether to get a D mini or Air mini. This has really helped me out. For my pc needs, although I like the fact that the Air mini can fit an atx PSU, I finally decided on going with the D mini, mainly because it is a bit longer in length so I can put 3 fans at the bottom to mirror the 3 fans on top.

The O11 Dynamic Mini with the slightly larger size of the Air Mini (for ATX PSU compatibility) would be absolutely perfect. I really hope Lian Li produces a second revision or hybrid version for that reason.

They sell a tempered glass version of the air mini at microcenter.

This Version exists in brazil, its called O11 Dynamic mini Redragon spec, its a collab between Lian Li and Redragon, but is 100% made by Lian Li, this version uses the case of Air mini but with a frontal glass panel

Just an FYI for those wanting to front mount their 280mm AIO, the front fan brackets makes it very difficult to mount a longer than normal 280mm radiator. I have the Deepcool Castle 280ex and it took me forever to mount it (front mount, pull configuration, tubes down). That might not be an issue if you have a short 280mm radiator, or a 240mm radiator.

wow, good on LiaLi for considering ATX PSU support for the legendary o11 mini. Wish we still had the option for front tempered glass though, coz pulling air from the bottom could still be enough for air focused builds.

I went back to the clearances portion to see if you mentioned how many slots that 1080 was. Then I was working, so I missed it all together. I looked it up, 2 slots. (In reference to side panel clearance and vertical mounting)

I got the mini air, and its a awsome case to build in. I done allot of coolermaster 200 cases and meshilischous cases but gotta say that the illusion of a itx is perfect. Running a ryzen 7600x, 32gb ram and a RTX 3070, mobo b650 Tomahawk, all parts are white and all cpu cooler is the thermalright assasion and total of 12 phantek argb fans, Asiahorse arg extenders for 24pin gpu cables mesh. I still got my main pc that is in a Fractal design R7 but i think im going to buy another Air mini but black, and put em side by side and paint the wall behind em white and black.

I was really hoping to see the O11 Air mini have top 360 rad support like the O11D Mini but with the ATX support. I can't imagine that it would have been that difficult to make the depth a few more mm to make that possible. Maybe it can be modded to fit because my 360 rad is 397 and this thing is 400? I'm happy to see ATX support but it means I have to choose between buying a new power supply or a new AIO if I want to port my system over to this case. Any one know if any of this is possible?

I'd totally use the side radiator to cool the gpu. and a top one for the cpu. and let the bottom intake. and add an exhaust to the back.

Nice review! I like the comparison with O11D mini (have one). The most important difference to me (besides the "air flow" changes) is the support for ATX PSU. For a high end system SFX PSUs with high wattage are hard to find, at least over the last months. With the decreased max CPU cooler height my Noctua NH-D15 wouldn't fit, and it looks awesome in a small case like this :)

The Noctua cant fit, neither a 360 AIO at the TOP, less a 280 on the side . . . so frustrating . . . and for just 2cm!!! 2!!! 1inch!!! is no difference to a whole case!! a USB thumbstick is bigger!!!

@@Raxsephon It's not a water-cooling case. The O11D Mini is so you get those features. The airflow is so much better in the Air Mini though that a 280mm rad in front with a few fans is all you need for a cool CPU. Someone left a comment on Lian Li's KZfaq saying this front AIO configuration got him the best temps he's ever had in a case. So no worries bud.

All the o11d needed was a mesh side panel and space for an ATX psu to fix it the air mini had the right idea but messed up in changing the dimensions of the height and length when the width was the only changed it needed Air mini should allow a 280 aio to be mounted on the rear and 3 120mm fans on the bottom to make it perfect

The Air Mini looks really inviting, but I think I still illogically want a Sith Holocron build (the pyramid case in one of the previous videos :p )

You can tell the D-Mini is in daily use. No way that machine is in storage. I would swap out the fans on the Galahad AIO for Uni-Fans and set them as intake so as to have positive pressure in the case. It's definitely Negative pressure now. Sure it doesn't look as nice but the Brushed aluminum discs on the front of the Uni-Fans can be peeled off and put on the hub on the back of them. You can use a heat gun or hair dryer to loosen them up but I just peel em right off.

So you can't swap hard drive cage and power supply on either of these? Wasn't that a feature of the regular O11D?

awesome side by side comparison was definitely very good style video considering it is basically the same case slightly retooled. Now all they need to do is make a 011D mini that supports ATX PSU's the the o11 air mini not having triple fan support on bottom of the case is a deal breaker for me unfortunately.

The only thing that I don't like about the air mini is the silly front fan cage. It blocks the back RGB of many fans and it look rubbish from inside when looking at the front. I am currently thinking of how to mount fans without that silly contraption. Lian li if you listening please provide alternatively mounting system . Just 4 holes would do.

I own black Air Mini, Its absolutely amazing case. Till few weeks ago I had Fractal Torrent and I have used Fractal cases for a long time, but the quality since series 7 on all on them is nothing short from cheap, all plastic and ugly design. Owing Air Mini now I can compare and its night and day as far is quality and aesthetics. My Strix 3090 and 5950X are very happy, all air cooled....just love it.

the compatibility for the regular ATX power supply and regular ATX motherboards is a no-brainer for me. This is easily the best case for the people who want to get rid of their old ugly cases and migrate their builds to a small form factor

Nice, but . . . why WHY!!! did they made it shorter than the regulat O11 Mini? now a 360 AIO cant fit at the top, neither a 280 on the side . . .

Is the surface finish around the I/O different? I heard the O11 mini is an easily scratched acrylic surface.

@@pcworld You're right, must be early reviewer samples with acrylic. I bought the O11D mini off this video and have no regrets. Also I will do anything for that top radiator offset bracket the O11D air is coming with.

@@katherinesilens2994 yeah that's true, for o11d mini have acrylic surface but that's just for black version, for white and snow edition just metal painting, and for o11 air mini have metal painting for all variant colors, nothing from acrylic surface.

Hmm. Honestly i think i like the original model more. It has a bit more of a premium look, a "Do it how you want to" vibe with the accesories and isn't afraid to ask you to use a SFX PSU instead. It is designed for builders willing and planning to spend a bit to create a show-case build to their exact specifications. The AIR seems designed more for general use. making some concessions to fit in a ATX power-supply, losing some mod-ability and being a bit restricted on the front. The parts it definitely does have going for it, is the fine mesh that looks a lot more spiffy than the original and indeed is in that sweet spot where it is porous enough for airflow, but also acts as a filter so no magnetic meshes required.

Actually it's can put 3 fan 120mm in bottom for o11 air mini, but attention for side by side fan just half hole and another half is closed by metal case.

The biggest difference for me is the air mini fits atx psu's and the dynamic mini only fits sfx. I was at microcenter this weekend and almost walked out with the dynamic mini before I saw it only fit sfx psu's. I have a full atx build I have been itching to transplant but I'm not trying to buy a new psu. I do air cooling so I don't care about the inordinate amount of time the review spends talking about rad sizes.

Nah, smaller radiator capacity in the Air and the depth of the component section is shallower making it hard to fit certain GPU waterblocks. People find out the hard way about the regular O11 Dynamic that it's pretty shallow and should have gone with the XL or the Mini which has deeper clearance than the regular O11 Dynamic.

Why is PC World so drunk on Lian cases? Its so rare to see anything actually good on here. My favorite case is the Cooler Master Cosmos. Back in the day I took that thing on a flight from Las Vegas to Miami to get it on a cruse ship (for work) sailed around for a week and then flew it back to Vegas. I don't remember how much it weighed but the cost to fly it was around 200 dollars.

It's a MINI AIRFLOW CASE. Not built for water-cooling specific builds. That's what the D Mini is for.

you forgot to note on the rear comparison that the psu sizes are different as the 011d mini can only fit sfx power supplies and the air mini can fit normal atx power supplies the placement was not the main difference...
