Wow such awesome freaking advice! If moving will make you happier, DO IT! If it’s going to provide you more opportunities, DO IT! The only way to continue growing is to put yourself in uncomfortable situations. Also shipping your car and packing it up with all your stuff is so smart and I feel like a lot of people can find that useful as it will be cheaper vs. if you just paid a moving company and shipped your car separately

Let be real here. I moved to LA over 13 years ago with way more then $2000.00 and if I came with that today I'll be among the homeless. I moved in 2004 and had saved up $11,000.00 before moving cross country by myself. Believe me I lived on the cheap. As a matter of fact my first three months I lived in my van so I wouldn't burn through my money. Actually that was my saving grace, cause it took me a month to fine a job, learn the area, and meet some people. Then I rented a room in the Valley, cause I wasn't clear on how things was gonna workout. One thing about LA you gonna go through money fast if you don't be smart about it and keep enough emergency cash.

Thank you for your excellent advice! I'm excited to move back to California around 2026 to attend college and start a new chapter in my life. This video will help me navigate my journey back home. I was born and raised in California, but my family and I had to move to Georgia when I was fourteen due to financial difficulties. Despite the challenges, I am determined to make my new life in California even better than my childhood. I will make it work no matter the obstacles, including homelessness and expenses.

I am determined to move to California. I grew up there and am familiar with the area, and I know that despite the homelessness issue, anyone can make a life there. I won't let anyone's opinion deter me. I trust my instincts, and I'm confident that I will make the move and create the best life for myself. I am committed to putting in the effort to make it happen.

Wow, this video is so helpful. It was very informative. I'm thinking about moving from my current state to California. I know it will be a bit more expensive out there but my heart is telling me to go. Plus I no longer feel safe in my state.

I didnt realize the vehicle was supposed to be empty for transport, I absolutely loaded it up here in Toronto, (and i mean loaded it).. drove it over the border to Buffalo, and they charged me only 200 bucks 😂 best 200 ever spent I think its because the added weight hurts gas mileage for their trucks. I had 2 e bikes, a guitar, a piano, golf clubs, an amp, vaccuum, plates and cuttery cups mugs etc it was madness, probably 600+ lbs of stuff 😆

You won’t know unless you ask! Plant the seed but be serious and present your plan. I did the same to my boyfriend, family and boss. The first two were totally on board and the last one wasn’t so i moved here with my boyfriend, my parent’s blessing, and a different job :) you got this! 🙏🏼

LOL, your math is off, car transport alone was $1500.00.

Car transport $1500, flight & checked bag $40, shipping 2 boxes total $230 = 1770 which is under $2,000.

I’m planning on driving a car and renting a cargo van for a friend to drive and buying them a one way flight for them. $1000 for cargo van, $200 for the flight, $100 packing supplies, car tune up $200, $300 gas and $70 hotel. That’s about $1850 wish me luck.

If you're serious about getting your finances in order, take the initiative to research how to budget for rent. This applies to every state, not just California, and it's worth knowing how to manage even in the most expensive areas. So, instead of complaining, take the time to educate yourself about it.

It will be beneficial if everyone, including yourself, makes an effort to make it succeed. Instead of making a “black people living in poverty” defense for your ignorance, why not try doing the work of the advice this woman IS giving you? While it's true that some black individuals may be living in poverty, many others are putting in tremendous effort to secure a roof over their heads. These individuals take pride in their homes and ensure they are comfortable living spaces far from filthy warehouses. Next time you talk about your background, try to be more open-minded and considerate rather than prejudiced and self-centered.
