My name is Lily and this is my channel so I guess you are wondering why its called 'Shadow The Unicorn'. Well - Shadow was in fact a unicorn, we very sadly lost Shadow in September 2018 however he is fondly remembered in all my vlogs and videos.
I love to make videos about horsey stuff and make them fun. I vlog about all sorts - horse care, videos of me riding, dressage tests and even mucking out! You will of course meet my horses, Perry the biggest on the yard, Diamond who is the only mare, Foxy who thinks he is a Dressage diva, Wally the first Miniature we had and of course Parsnip the smallest recruit who is a cheeky little 32" chap . Of course there is lots about me too as I aspire to be a Dressage rider💕
Meet Team Unicorn:
Perry is Black, aged 6 and a 16.1hh Hannovarian Gelding
Diamond is Dark Bay, aged 12 and a 15.2hh Oldenburg Mare
Foxy is Bay, aged 10, and a 15.1hh British Riding Pony Gelding
Wally is Silver Dapple, aged 2 and is an 8hh American Miniature Horse
Parsnip is Black, aged 2 and is a 32" American Miniature Horse
(there are other pony team members that we have loved and lost along the way it has been a very very tough journey❤️)

Instead of wasting the water from overnight, use it to clean ur feed buckets! I used to feel dead bad for pouring it away but now I use it to clean them

@@Shadowtheunicorn I know that it’s a new bedding but why don’t you not put bank on the side of the walls as it would be easier to do the bed then when u muck out as u can but the the u mucked out in the centre of the stable and then the clean bedding around on the walls. Ps lily I love you and ur horses ur video are amazing . But I would love if u could post and extra video during the week if u have the time.love u lily ur videos are very entertaining and amazing.

What if i just put the pellets? I mean without putting water. Or it can cause injury to the horse as it is cylindrical

do any of the ponies try and eat the pellets becasue i want to move my horse on. to pellets but im worried. he may try and eat them becasue hes very food orientated

Cassie Barney Wally eats anything in sight and he has not even tried to eat them, so I can’t say that they do.

spray some disinfectant over the bed,should stop him wanting to eat it,or soak it before you put it down so that there are no pellets x

The Fur Monsters they are Plevin products Snowflake pellets, they are fab - bigger bags and much more absorbent and whiter than others we have tried. X

Do you mean the clear plastic outside the stables? If so they are to stop the horses chewing the wood which they seem to like doing in the winter 🥶

We wet some down and then add some dry depending on what the bed is looking like. Now we have their beds established we usually add dry pellets to the existing beds.

I'm struggling to see how that can be a comfortable bed, especially for an older horse with aches and pains :( There's nothing to it, no support, no warmth, no comfort. It may be better for mucking out for the human but I'm not convinced it's great for the horse, sorry!
