There's an AD near me who are very rude and don't show any interest in new customers. It really does spoil the buying experience. It makes such a better experience when both retailer and customer are polite with each other. Btw, congrats on reaching 2000 subscribers! 🎉

I mostly buy inexpensive watches online so I dont have many bad stories of dealers. But when I visit Phoenix AZ I go to the same family owned Arizona Fine Time and pick out something nice. It's a great feeling to support a local business that treats you like a human being, there's a loyalty that develops.

Tony, enjoy and look forward to your channel. Just a quick note on my experiences with two Rolex AD’s here in GB. I am in my mid sixties and just a retired average bloke. My first purchase was a Rolex Explorer 1 from a small family AD. Treated with respect politeness and genuine good customer relationship. My second purchase was a 41 Day Date from a large franchise Rolex AD. Again welcomed and treated as I would treat people. Having worked in customer facing role most of my working life I know it can be sometimes difficult dealing with Joe Public, but my rule of thumb is it is easier to be nice and chilled than rude and abnoxious.

Thanks for answering the question. One thing I need to add is that my lost enthusiasm was not whist ill, it was directly after and lasted weeks, maybe a month. Luckily it gradually came back 😂

i know i piss my AD off but its what we gotta do as non priority buyers. the footballers and celebs get the call within a week but for us we have to remind the AD that we are a genuine customer with a passion. you could be lucky and get a sub within 6 months. my AD keeps telling me i can have 2 watches on the rolex list. but i havent added another one as i just want the airking 2022 model. ive told them i dont like datejust and ops and that i wouldnt be buying them to enhance my position on the list. but recently ive just got a tudor ive been waiting for since 2023 watches and wonders, so they do give you the watches eventually. its just really that ADs play a revolver game as in one shop has 4 sales assisants and get 4 subs, each sales assistant gets one. not one gets the 4. so your just waiting for the celeb to get theirs then you gotta wait for yours. its pretty simple system but for the common folk like us its a game not a watch buying experience. im thinking of gifting my ad wine for getting my tudor as a thanks. we gotta stay patient and remind em that we are still alive and wanting the watch

Bought a Breitling Bentley 24 hour carbon 1 of 288 new online from watchbox. Was my first luxury watch. Service was great. Was so excited. Got the watch and it was perfect looking. Wound it properly the first time and 12 hours later it died. Never lasted longer. Supposed to be a 36 hour power reserve. Never felt the same about it. The excitement was gone. Showed it to a guy at the Breitling AD and he said the movement was messed up. Traded it in shortly after. 😢

Regardless if your a customer or a retailer being polite and respectful isn’t asking too much. An AD should be grateful for business when someone purchases a watch wether it’s Rolex or Seiko. I owned Liquor and Fine Wine business for many years. Throughout my life always do my best to be polite and appreciative in any transaction whether I’m the customer or retailer. Rudeness and ignorance I have little patience for🤔

I really wanted a 36mm OP in Turquoise Blue and an Explorer 1, I have been to 6 local dealers in LA including Bhindi’s and have not heard from anyone yet and it’s been over six months, it just feels awkward to go into an AD, they know the game and I no longer want to pay gray market prices as I try to establish a relationship locally, to hard and frustrating now to try and support the local dealers as the demand in SoCal is ridiculous

Have bought watches in many ways and worse experience I can think of is how DHL delivered two!! Personally it would not affect my feelings on the watch anyway. They are two separate things to me. I did have a very similar experience buying a £300 framed picture from a low end chain shop (Athena, they are not around anymore). The lady at the counter actually said “are you sure you can afford this?” I was so shocked I just said “Yes” We enjoyed having the picture all the more!! 😂

So true, and so funny! 14060M :D! lesson learned. I just need to drive the extra couple hundred miles, because it will be worth it to never go back to that AD!
