@@deaditedude9201 Elden Ring's combat should've been a hack&slash like Nioh Bosses are on some Bayonetta tier shit while we're stuck on shitty Demon's Soul level clunkiness

@@deaditedude9201 People get upset when you say this but it's so true. Elden Ring combat is still just Dark Souls combat with a bit more mechanics added. It's not bad but it's definitely a bit slow, simple and clunky at times. Nioh 2 however is like playing a fighting game. The amount of depth and complexity to play at an impressive level is insane. The sheer amount of skilks and combos and cancels you can do is incredible.

4 months late, but yeah, I feel this. Dark souls did some phenomenal stuff with story telling but the combat is just uninteresting to me.

I personally don't feel the same. Every time I play Nioh my deaths feel out of my control despite the excellent combat mechanics due to the enemies just having random difficulty spikes even in Nioh 1's first areas. One minute it's difficult but doable, then you turn a corner to 3 knights, all of which want your ass more then booty warrior wants a cell mate. I always thought Dark Souls camera angles were a joke then I fought a mobile Nioh boss. I always thought it was stream rolled or to be steamrolled until Nioh, where they take it to a higher plane and either you beat enemies no sweat or your struggling for your life4 v 1 while a cute fluffy ball cat slaps their ankles encouragingly. I tried to be funny here... key word *tried* ... but yeah Nioh is fine, but From Soft has better enemy placements, camera work, and story (generally...) but tbf. Nioh had me invested, it has some cool stuff, even if only on paper, and they do win in weapon designs. From Soft has a few standout weapons but Nioh made me feel like I could fight with a wooden sword if I felt like getting clapped.

I love nioh, but I don’t agree. The ki management is a fun evolution on stamina, but the need for blocking kinda slows things down. Plus the fact that weapons only have one damage type is a serious detriment. No “slash” “blunt” or “pierce”, just the three elements.

@@Senriam you don't need to block honestly, yokai cancel animations are there, you can use it both as an offensive & defensive tools. There are damage types actually, thrust attack can gain benefits on certain sets (not that much tho). Tonfa, Fist (not claw), Splitstaff, & Axe (Hammer type) have blunt damage, which deals more Ki damage.

I love both, and I think nioh 2 in terms of customization and combat is way better but the open world of Elden ring is absolutely phenomenal

How did you manage to play it? I got bored after ten hours, absolutely repetitive and way too over the top.

@@HardWriting i like the over the top, im an anime fan, i play the game with friends, unlocking the moves is cool af, and the combat is BEYOND addicting
