If you're not a coconut cracking ninja from Samoa, then you'll need an easier way to bust coconuts for pleasure, or for survival. This is the easiest and most effective way I've found to do it, when you don't have any tools.
This coconut opening experiment is great for those interested in: cracking coconuts at home, bust coconut trick, how to crack coconut easily, opening coconut hack, how to open coconut without tools, and much more!
#Coconut #CrackCoconut #TKOR
Inspired by Tom Hanks "Castaway". Best movie ever!

Let assume the rocks weighed 25 kg. You should lift it 3 times therefore , The amount energy needed : n x m x g × h 3 x 25 kg x 9.81 m/s2 x 4 ft 3 x 25 kg x 9.81 m/s2 x 1.2 m = 882.9 joules . And ive researched that a single punch of professional boxer is around 1000 joules. Conclusion : use mike tyson instead.

Well technically key to opening the coconut is to apply the right amount of pressure at the right point to weaken the fibres , while that might take 882.9 joules of energy, A professional boxer would not be able to apply great pressure on the rock as it it be a blunt force and can damage your bones. Hitting the nut repeatedly would also require a great amount of energy so it would technically take a man with punches a lot of tries thus spending a lot of energy.

As a boy in Hawaii, my uncle taught me how to open a coconut without tools. A small boy would not be able to lift that huge rock to drop on the coconut, but that's okay. If you lack the strength, all you need to do is keep banging the pointy end of the coconut on a hard surface like a big flat rock, or concrete. It might take one or two minutes, but consistent pounding with less strength will do the same job as a few big blows. Once the coconut is peeled, you can crack it the way that this man shows, or hold it in your hand upright, and hit it with a smooth river stone in the same place several times. Again, if you don't have the strength, repeated taps will crack it. Plus, there's more control, so you're less likely to spill all the water by busting it open suddenly.

Roderick Young if I go to Hawaii can I just grab any coconut on the beach and eat it or is there some law?
@roderickyoung1243
@roderickyoung1243 6 жыл бұрын
I'm not aware of any law against doing that, and beaches are generally public in Hawaii. However, since the 70's or so, when a baby was killed by a falling coconut, the Parks and Rec department has been removing coconuts from trees while still in the tiny stage, at the nice beaches.

Spent time on Guam thanks to USAF in the mid 70s. Discovered that coconuts that were clearly over-sized often contained carbonated 'water'. Wish we'd have known this method of removing the husk. As for the rest, we usually 'drilled' them with a pointed rock to make a small hole in the shell, then a stick to pierce the meat, so we lost very little if any of the 'milk'.
