I worked at a wine bar and we sold retail as well. Our wine salesman was a wealth of knowledge. I was about 23 at the time, I’m 37 now. Anyways, that man taught me so much about wine and made me love wine. Best piece of advice he gave me is that the best bottles you’ll ever taste all cost less than $30. The people that buy these ridiculously priced bottles of wine are just suckers. Unless you truly know what you’re doing your best bet is always a cheaper bottle.
@TheHBW44
@TheHBW44 Жыл бұрын
I think the sweet spot for value and taste/quality is £30 max. Saying that I recently was lucky to try some £70 ish ones and you could tell the difference, it was mind bogglingly good.

The only issue for my workplace is since were a restaurant we mark up stuff almost 150% sometimes, we have bottle of vodka that we get wholesale for $27 per bottle and will sell the whole bottle for around $120
@jonslg240
@jonslg240 Жыл бұрын
You're a perfectly aged bottle of human imo 😂 Also, I bet $30 or less is correct. I bet there are a few that taste great, the rest is swill in a bottle and has the placebo effect making people think they're tasting money. The sad part is, they are tasting money.. and money flavored wine tastes like crap 🤣

Most crystal glasses today are lead-free due to public concern. But it wouldn’t matter, as wine does not sit in a glass long enough for lead to leach. This would only pose a health risk if you are storing liquid in a vintage leaded-crystal container for weeks or months.
