I've been using this for a while now, but I haven't tried to organise the tasks. This is encouraging, and I'm gonna have a go. The recent addition of setting time durations for tasks looks helpful, too, especially on the integrated calendar, rather than blocking out an hour every time

Such a great video, Peter. I love that you’ve brought much of what I love about Things over to Todoist in creating the Someday label and Anytime Filter. So helpful. I think I’ll also create a Someday section at the bottom of each project and park those tasks there, or view projects grouped by label so those are kept apart. Anyway, thanks!

Decent review Peter, Todoist doesn't handle deadlines very well, in fact it doesn't handle them at all, but I like the board view so am back with Todoist after a few months with Things 3. I would have stuck with Things but they don't have as many options for viewing your tasks organised by labels which I find very useful. Things has nailed the deadlines though, I really miss that feature.

Honestly...I often go back and forth between leaving one for the other, only to return. Right now I'm back on Things 3 but in the middle of transitioning back to Todoist. I love the look of Things 3 and the price point (one time charge vs recurring)...but I love the ease of entering tasks in Todoist.

Things 3 has a shortcut that lets you easily link an email to a task. Am I correct in thinking that Todoist doesn't have that feature? If not, for me this is a problem for switching to Todoist. I work on a Mac and use the Mac app Mail.

I have been searching for something that combines To Do lists, Calendar and Diary/Journalling - whereby the diary/ journalling part can be simple - just the possibility to make a few notes accompanying the done tasks/activities. And that's the part that I miss in this video - the rest is excellent (both the tool and the video).But it was not shown/explained if one can go back and view the done tasks, when they were done and any accompanying notes. I guess I will have to try it out and see... Update: Ok I have tried it for a few hours, and my impression is one can use comments accompanying tasks as a sort of journalling. Reviewing what was done when is supported in a very rudimentary way (you get a completed list by typing G then C), so no "nice" view looking back. Upcoming view looking forward is a bit better, but also a bit rudimentary - one needs to depends on linking with an external calendar. It would be nice to get all 3 functions reasonably well supported in one app...

Trying out your Anytime / Someday approach. Does this mean I have to either: (1) give 'someday' tag to all entries in my reference projects (e.g. books to read, movies to watch, etc), or (2) use the exclamation point function for those projects [e.g. !(#Books2Read)] so that they don't appear in the anytime list?
@PeterAkkies

You do NOT need to clutter your todo app with a bunch of projects/areas. The only important thing is when you’re going to do the task. I absolutely agree with Carl’s TSS. Your task manager should be simple, clean and only your most important tasks. Keep your “projects” in your notes app of choice.

I don't understand one thing. If you create task with due date "today 2pm", task is in Google calendar from 2pm to 3pm. So all tasks are immediately overdue? If your deadline is 2pm, you don't want it in Google calendar from 2pm to 3pm... 🤔
@PeterAkkies
@PeterAkkies 10 ай бұрын
Good question. No. The “overdue” is based on the date but not the time. So after midnight it becomes overdue, if you haven’t done it yet by then.
