32-year-old Mark is born with cerebral palsy and is dependent on 24-hour care - however, he has also been selling chocolate on the street for the last 20 years to financially support sponsor children and educational projects in Tanzania and India. Now Mark is going on his life's biggest adventure travelling to Tanzania to visit his sponsor children Disma and Lekadia and see some of the projects he has been supporting for years.
An Ordinary Life aims above all to highlight everything that is possible for people who live with a disability and to put the spotlight on individuals who have a unique, admirable, and inspiring attitude to life and the challenges they face.

It's actually very refreshing how this documentary doesn't hide any of the hardships of life; not only of the person living with a disability, but the people that support them... and the sheer joy of the happiness from any wins/goals achieved.

You inspire me, Mark. After caregiving for our mother for the past 13 years sometimes I find it so difficult to deal with the day to day difficulties. Thank you so much for reminding me of my blessings. God bless you, Mark.

I cannot thank you enough for what you have done. You have made an impact even to me, and are an inspiration! May God open doors for you to inspire more people. I am Autistic and struggle to do things, but you have inspired me to think that even smaller things can make big differences, and that i don't have to aim yo be the same as anyone else.

Mark, You are such a great person. Haley and Sam are too. I am so happy that you got to go to Africa and see you kids. I have almost 300 kids from all over the world that need a mother figure to talk to. I talk to them via internet. My husband has CP as well. He has the exact same attitude as you do, just so happy and determined. Each day is a new day. Life is like a box of chocolates. Amy :)

Ok, I watched this with both the eye of the general public but also as the eye of an assistant to 4 people with cp for a decade. I was so impressed with the footage they showed of Mark's trip (I am sure there were some not-so-heart warming parts not shown, as international travel while alter-abled is extremely difficult and taxing emotionally and physically). The ONLY thing that made me kind of cringe was that, the ONE time he meets his kids for the hour or whatever, when they sit in their homes and exchange gifts the child sits behind him, out of Mark's view. I felt anxiety while watching those parts. I know this was just a small oversight on the part of others, just wanted to put that out there. :/

''overcome cerebral palsy'', does he still have CP ? then he has not overcome CP, hes learned how to live with it and work around it as best he can, he functions and contributes, but he did not ''overcome'' it. i have CP as well, and i will always have it, no matter what i do, no matter what success or failures i have in life, i will always have CP, that is just the reality, im not delusional or in denial.
