@@99897767 Yeah, and they were so under-the-radar before the game starts that the people who actually can read (Brotherhood, Institute) just didn't give a crap about them. It looks stupid at first glance, but it still worked out fine for the Railroad unless an unsympathetic Sole Survivor comes knocking.

@@kneekickers They were also in the middle of downtown Boston a place filled with gunner mercenaries, raiders, super mutants, and an assortment of ferals, bugs, wild dogs etc and you had to follow a pre-war trail to reach the end of the line. For us the player its simple as hell to reach. For the average wastelander or even Institute assassin good luck the Railroad is monitoring the entire thing and can close up shop behind several layers of defence if they don't want to talk to you.

SvendleBerries I had him pretty much my entire game and yeah, he’s really damn good, especially when he’s got some of the better weapons. Plus he doesn’t give two fucks no matter what you do, so you don’t have to worry about follower opinions cause you could eat a man in front of him and he wouldn’t care. Travis is the best companion in the game.

What's actually funny is that, from a pure casualty standpoint, the Institute route has the least number of deaths and is arguably the easiest to do ymfah's methods with. Hell, the final mission in that actually gives a shitload of really strong reinforcements (unlike the minutemen) which with a few Stealth Boys, allows you to sit back and watch some sick ass light shows while sipping a victory beverage. Hell, all of the synth backup from that route lets you sit by and chortle for half the game.

You can't kill some vendors and children but that's fine by me, you can kill most people. You can even kill Father (Shaun) the moment you meet him.

Game doesn't count it, if you don't do it face to face. Hey, maybe the Institute realized they were going to get nuked, and all of them teleported out before the bomb went off. You don't know for sure they didn't. After all, you still get attacked by Institute synths after you blow the Institute up, so some of them most have gotten out.

@@cauratheeyelex5020 There's no reason you shouldn't be able to talk to Kellogg Corn Flakes. In Fallout 1 you can make the Master kill himself if you say the right things and have a high enough Charisma. FO4's story is shit, but I actually thought Kellogg was a unique character. He's obviously upset with what he has done and he's upset with how the Institute has used him. It would have been interesting if you could have actually hashed it out with him using words instead of being forced to kill him.

@@spartan456 Also in New Vegas you can talk yourself out of most situations. Literally the only issues are animals and Fiends, who are just so up high on drugs, they seem to be attacking rocks as well, and yell at sun.

@@codeword632 "Better" is subjective. Personally, F4 is my favorite, then 3 and finally NV. Fallouts 1 and 2, I won't bother to compare because they're completely different games. I've played all of them multiple times and, for the most part, enjoyed them all. Part of why I like 4 is settlement building. It gives you time to chill and do something completely different. Others would be the setting, visuals, and the map itself. Not to mention it just plays and feels better. The game feels less restrictive in terms of where I can/should go and when. I also like the mods in F4. I'm sure there are more. These are what come to mind atm.

FO4 has ruined my ability to enjoy NV. I really like 1 and 2, but they are different from the others. FO4 is the worst in terms of writing, with 3 being right behind it. NV is equal to 1 and 2 in terms of writing. But FO4 just feels good to play. The guns are all satisfying to shoot, you don't feel like a snail taking a shit in a pile of molasses while trying to move, enemies actually respond to being shot and attempt to evade your attacks. The list goes on. FO4 is all-around the most "functional" and "polished" of all the Fallout games. As much as I love NV for the writing, I just can't bring myself to play it again. I tried to recently and all of the things that make it a "game" don't feel good at all. I don't give a damn about graphics, but for an FPSRPG, it's not a good FPS at all. Even when Fallout 3 came out, the FPS mechanics were dated as fuck. I enjoyed NV at the time it came out, but FO4 feels far more "feature complete", and not like a gigantic bug nestling inside of your anus.

@@spartan456 I agree, 3 and NV haven't aged well in terms of FPS mechanics. I'd also don't give a damn about graphics. I think it's more the setting than the graphics. That desert environment is just so bland. I don't find it interesting in the least. For this reason alone, I'd rather play 3 than NV, or even 1 and 2. Playing through F4, I still occasionally find a place, or something interesting that I never knew about. It could be something small and insignificant, but it still adds to the enjoyment. Playing through NV, even for the second or third time, there was very little of this. I'm sure I could still find things in F3 as well. I feel the exploration is better in both 3 and 4.

Even Frank can be killed without you actually doing it

If you pass a speech check before the fight with Frank, you can convince the Enclave troops to do it for you. If you have high science, you can reprogram the turrets as well, so they kill the boss instead of you.

Yes, I know. By the end of "pacifist" run I was level 26 (instead of 34-35 for usual ones). Raising weapon-related skills or even keeping guns and ammo in a pretty small inventory (Strength isn't the most useful attribute for this run to say the least, and power armor comes way too late) would be a waste. And since kills by your party members count as yours, I never took any. So hacking turrets (overdose president with superstimpacks to get his pass-card, hack with science 130+, if I remember correctly) and convincing 4 Enclave soldiers (speech 150+) was the only option.
