I’m building my first drag car for a customer to do TX2K in 2024. First go around with a parachute so your video was extremely helpful, thank you. Love seeing videos that get down to business without the fluff.

Thank you !! I've watched a few of these, and I think yours is the best. Sad to say, I have watched this being done and really didn't pay attention. Since about 1970. I now have my own car that actually needs one. Also , I like the confidence of your son. Good job!

Thanks so much for the video! Very good explanation, I was struggling cause the cord that came with it was too short, just like you said. Fun fact: I am watching this and packing it also on Christmas. So merry Christmas from Germany 🇩🇪

The Simpson instruction say your pack flaps need to be threaded bottom,top, left, right. Makes it a little easier doing it by yourself. ✌️
@Yedardy4 ай бұрын
I’ve always found going from the top to the bottom first, then going from left to right heaps easier while working on your own, but everyone has their own methods
@Jvcomet4 ай бұрын
Yep I just like the way the flaps look. Thanks for watching. 👍

Very informative, way more info than I was needing and I appreciate that. This is the first of your videos that I’ve seen because I was searching dragster parachute operation because I’m planning on mounting one one a Minibike. Just for fun but I want it to work. Sweet ride btw I also own a ‘64 Comet.

My goal for my build was 150mph trap to earn the chute.. but now after seeing several drivers wrestling with there chute I now only wanna go 149.5 mph 😅

It’s not too bad after you do it a few times. 👍

If i have a shout but don’t really use it often, should I open up every couple months or Before I’m ready to use it so it doesn’t get stuck or fails
@Jvcomet2 жыл бұрын
If you don’t use it often I would open and fluff it out. Check for rips and repack for the race . Thanks
@heatshield Жыл бұрын
So the spring doesn’t push the chute out, it jumps out first and pulls the chute out?
@Jvcomet Жыл бұрын
Yes. Like a small pilot chute 👍
@jenniferm821882 жыл бұрын
Good video. I own a Simpson chute, its a real pain in the ass by yourself. I am switching to a Stroud soon.

This might be a dumb question but are these street legal, like I live in Nevada but could I ride around with one of these
@Jvcomet3 жыл бұрын
No not at all they’re track built . You can build street legal cars that can be daily driven . But they would be totally built with that In mind. #1 thing would be cooling and then there’s fuel capacity . And all the legal things for being on a public road . And or pass your given states safety and emission laws. Hope that answers your questions. Thanks for watching. 👍👍
@Jvcomet3 жыл бұрын
Ok I just realized your asking if you can drive around with the chute 🤣lol I thought you mentioned are the cars street legal. I have driven with the chute on. Don’t see any reason you can’t.
