Diane I have enjoyed this video probably more than any I’ve watched so far mainly because of your fabulous banter! I literally laughed out loud at some of your observations and comments❤️your sense of humor is fantastic! So real, so vulnerable sharing your art- even when you feel you’ve made a “mistake” (which in my opinion always turn out to be the opposite!). I wish we were neighbors!😂❤️❤️ Thank you so much for sharing your world with us!

Hi Diane, I saw your videos for the 1st. time last week. I‘m an oldie too ( 75 next week! Wow! Where did the time go…. ), I enjoy most crafts, & like reading very much, know Cadfael books but, read them years ago!, At the mo. I‘m reading the 7 sisters, Marian Keyes, & the 14 th DI Galena by J.Ellis, & after re-starting watercolour painting am enjoying art in my 3/4 century (?), you know not youth the other end of the scale! Also am enjoying your videos. Thanks

Hi Sharon, so glad to have you on board! I love hearing stories like yours! We have four dogs and they are all greedy greedy greedy! I know what you mean about not keeping things down - one of ours loves to eat sheep poo and unfortunately we have only too much of it and if she gets into the field it’s a disaster! She’s 14 so it hasn’t done her much harm but I don’t know how - she must have a cast-iron stomach! Thanks so much for your loyalty and your faithfulness to our channel - so glad that you’re enjoying the videos! Keep watching!

I enjoy every one of your tutorials, this is an older one. I did not know to put the holes on the bottom of the book mark, it makes sense. About watching TV: I don’t actually watch it, but I turn it on for the cat, then mute it so I can enjoy KZfaq without him bothering me. When I first started doing this, he would see the images on the tv screen, but the sound was coming from the side, his little head would look back and forth. He eventually got used to it. I love your nature inspired and whimsical art.

You are so welcome! I agree - I don't like watching videos that are sped up myself, so I wouldn't want to inflict them on my viewers! You can't possibly see what the artist is doing if they are sped up! I really appreciate you taking the time to tell me that you enjoy the "visiting" aspect of my videos - I do try to show my daily routine, mood changes, inspirations and down-days as well, while trying to help people learn to paint!

@@DianeAntoneStudio You're welcome. I appreciate you showing all those different aspects of your life and mood as you teach which are so relatable. Yes, I feel like it is a visit. I grab my coffee or tea while I watch and am inspired to pick up my watercolor paints and paint myself. Because I have no formal training, I often feel paralyzed, probably a perfectionist thing I need to work through. Thank you for the inspiration to just go ahead and paint and not be held back by internal fears. :)

If you want to take a look and maybe subscribe to the lowest level initially that would be great - just follow this link: www.patreon.com/dianeantonestudio I also have an Amazon shop where I have collected together all the things I use in my studio, including a beginners list, and you can find that here: www.amazon.com/shop/dianeantonestudio I hope this helps and that you enjoy the poppies!

The introduction to this video with you setting up with your tea makes me feel like we're painting together. I love lavender and I love making bookmarks. They are so much fun. I always include a bookmark in any gifts I give people, but your bookmarks are on a different level! The three you painted are each so beautiful and I hope you continue making more. The lavender is so realistic I can almost smell it and your little bee is so cute. Please keep making bookmark tutorials. Maybe some cute pumpkins for October/November and some winter snowy trees for the holidays. The possibilities are endless and I can't wait to see what you come up with. I could sit and listen to you all day, darn obligations :) Oh, and the husband / sport story was funny and just another reason why I love watching you. You're so real. I think the annoyance for me with having sports on is the background noise. Even if the volume is low, it always sounds so aggressive. My daughter bought my husband some wireless headphones that have been so helpful. Now all I hear is him making his narrative with a loud cheer or shout. Not sure which is worse. Haha - By the way I love seeing your channel grow! Great choice Tamsin on music choice and as always, very lovely photography.
@DianeAntoneStudio
@DianeAntoneStudio 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Carolyn and thanks for your wonderful feedback. I really do appreciate your suggestions. What a lovely idea of yours to include a bookmark with gifts you give. I was wondering whether people still used bookmarks as it seems from what you hear on the media that no-one reads real books any more, but I'm learning from the followers on the channel that this is not the case. People obviously still do read paper books! So I think I will try to do a bookmark say once a fortnight going towards the gift giving season. And definitely with seasonal themes. I think that's important, and we are into late summer now which you'll see reflected in my next video. Thinking about sport, couple of comments on that. I learnt to hate the sound of soccer at an early age and it makes my nerves stand on end to hear the soccer commentators screaming and raving at men kicking a stupid ball about a stupid field. I also hate the way they are paid so much money for playing this stupid game. My husband loves tennis, football and basketball because in the last century he played it for a while. I think it's time he grew up but he disagrees. I do make him wear headphones, not only for that but for his other hobby, which is listening to Wagner and Shostokovitch at top volume. Another no no. Anyway, enough of that, and I'd like to thank you very much for noticing that the channel is growing and for appreciating Tamsin. It's hard work cracking the whip to keep her working full speed!!! (joke!) See you again soon and thanks for the tips!

I'm a beginner, and am enjoying your channel so much! As I watch and practice, the one problem I find I have is that I get caught up in your stories and comments, and forget to keep painting...and I quite enjoy your voice. Thank you for the hours of quiet enjoyment.

Made me smile hearing you talk about watching some old shows from the states, Cagny and Lacie and think I heard The Rockford Files. A blast from the past, both shows my deceased Mom so loved. This set was so enjoyable to watch and makes me feel I can easily follow along with you to make the same. Still trying to decide at what level patron I need to join. Many thanks.

Hi Emily, thanks so much for all your lovely comments today, and welcome to the channel! Sorry to hear about your mum, she had the same taste as me! I used to listen to the Rockford Files (the theme tune is playing in my head now!) while feeding my children when they were tiny, I missed most of the plots because I couldn't watch uninterrupted!!! Ah, memories! If you want to join the club, you can either do the KZfaq membership, in which case you want to join CREATE level, or Patreon, in which case you want to join INSPIRATION. Patreon is at patreon.com/dianeantonestudio and KZfaq is at kzfaq.infomembership Hope this helps! Welcome again, Diane x

Lovely book marks Diane, I love reading everyday and I have to say I loved watching Brother Cadfael too, I can relate to the herbs etc even though they are only stories but in years gone by we relied on herbs to help with many things and lavender was one of many, so clever you for mentioning Cadfael and relating it to your lavender bookmarks. Thanks so much. Sandy 🌸

Oh, and I love to read also. I am in my mid 40's now with 6 children and homeschool them. I have loved reading ever since I can remember. I do find that with my art that I enjoy watching the creating and have not done as much actual painting. I feel so inspired by you and your easy, laid back style. I was so surprised to hear that you don't have any art stores there. Wow! Anyway.... Again, thank you so much for your channel and sharing yourself and your life. :)

Congratulations on having such a lovely family, and on the home schooling. I home schooled my two for several years and they still say it was the best thing! Hard work for mum though! Perhaps some of the ideas from my channel might work with your kids, as I'm sure you do art with them too. We still have a few book marks and things like that that my two made in the 1980s! Re art stores, I live in a very small village in central Brittany and we are about 90 minutes drive from a big town. Our local small town has no art store, just a stationery store that sells a few bits and pieces. I can't bring myself to drive for a round trip of 2 hours to visit a store, especially when I know they will be very small, horribly expensive, probably unwelcoming and mostly poorly stocked. That's the way it is in France. I used to live in Canada and America and so I know how lucky you are with your stores and the amazing online service too. I envy you your Hobby Lobby and so on. But I do have peace and quiet and (mostly) clean air. Thanks for sharing, and so glad to have you on board!
