Well done🥰. I’ve been wanting to paint these beautiful characters. They come down to our location in the foothills of the Sierra mt Range. They run off the pretty scrub jays for a few months.

The Steller's Jay is one of the birds we see most frequently at our feeders here in Oregon, along with our Red-winged Blackbirds and American Goldfinches, and I just realized what a strange coincidence it is that they display the three primary colors!

Absolutely beautiful. I love watching you paint. I am learning so many techniques. I hope that by the end of this year or by the beginning of 2023 I will be able to join you on patroon and learn even more. You are such an inspiration. I have been fighting depression for over a year now and lost my job because of it, with the help of my Dr.s I’m excepting my “ new normal “ and by watching your videos, you are so inspiring, I forget all of my problems and get lost in the beauty of art. I use to paint all the time, but couldn’t bring myself to sit down and paint until I found your videos. It’s nice to pick up a paint brush again… Thank you for sharing your talents with us. I absolutely love your style of painting!!!!...what makes you decide to paint on dry paper at times? I love your technique of wetting the paper and moving the paint...also that you don’t mix your colors on the palette...except for your grays!!!! Love it, love it!!!!

Thank you! I paint on damp paper if I want soft edges, if I want more time to lay the paint down, or if I want to drop other colours in. I paint on dry paper when I don't have to do those things. 💜

That is the best paper. Not like the cheap stuff I use. The paper makes a huge difference.

Lol.....that's late. Thank you! Sometimes I'll use a light box to trace my drawing or if the paper is really thick I use Saral transfer paper.

A california Scrub Jay is a prettier bird with more color to them versus the Steller's Jay. We have both birds here in western Washington state.

Hi Louise! Is it ok to fill my trays with different brands of tube paints? I have some from 2 different companies. Daniel Smith and Arteza I just wanted to try the better brand, Daniel smith, but I didn't get ALL his colors..
