Beautiful dog, beautiful painting. I loved how the overall feel was loose, but there was still enough detail ( which is MY weakness) for the painting to feel ‘sharp’ where it was important. Dark, almost monochromatic paintings like this are daunting, but I intend to try it.

I adore all your tutorials! I love that I if the mood strikes or I just need a confidence boost I can quickly trace your image and go straight to painting. It helps to dive in and learn all your amazing tips on the different painting techniques. I also love that when when a different mood strikes I can focus on honing my sketches with your tutorials and then paint them for a final masterpiece. I say masterpiece, they are to my family anyway. Not a chocolate lab, but there is a tutorial in my Membership for a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, which has similar coloring.
