Looks way more realistic than those wood grain tools! Going to try this on our pillars at the front of our house. I've never liked how flat they feel and I think this would look fantastic! Thanks!!

Recently I've discovered that it's the Canadians with the best ideas & talents! Great effect! I also appreciate that you don't have annoying music in the background. You get to it & explain & show it well. Thank you! I'll try this technique on a wall with lighter brown tones. I'm excited to try it!

Thank you so much. This video is the fastest way to do floors I've found anywhere, and with the very best result. I imagine for a weathered look I may be able to use other paint colors such as the very darkest gray, Lighter gray and white. This was very helpful. I'm ready to get to work now that i have a technique that wont take years to finish. Smile! Bless you!

I had nasty carpet and little $- seeing your videos inspired me- I am doing my ENTIRE house with your technique and I LOVE IT! Thank you for sharing your expertise- I am SO happy with the results! I have done large living room/ dining room and by cutting the paint with water as you suggest- 1 gallon of lighter brown and 1 of darker may do about 1400 sq ft. awesome result for minimal cost. A lot of hard work- but worth the savings.

Looks great! I cringed while watching at the mistreatment of the brush at first, going against the direction of the bristles and splaying them, but then I saw how it leaves such interesting strokes like that! Definitely worth sacrificing a brush for creating such a nice faux wood! Well done!

I will definitely be practicing this! Have 4 rooms we didn't complete when putting in our wood, and now, of course, they no longer carry the random sizes we first installed, and it's nearly 3xs the cost.

I truly agree with everyone here. You sir have done actual magic! I am redoing the wood floors in my house to add value, but I've been dreading it because I hate, loathe, and abhor sanding. Does anyone recommend a heavy duty sealer or top coat to make the floor last the longest? Do you think that the polymer clear sealant normally used on wood floors would work since the paint is almost as thin as stain? I also love your idea to use the wall color as the floor base color. This ties the room together so beautifully. Thank you so much for posting this. I wish you the best with your channel! I'm off to choose my colors now!

What the Heck! This is really cool. I love that your just using normal paint. These other videos people have these tiny bottle of some odd fancy paint. I have a graining tool, but your technique looks better.
@RutRohShaggy6 жыл бұрын
I LOVE this technique and its inexpensive and looks so very do-able without fancy equipment. My question is.... if the sub-floor (not plywood) is not as smooth as yours like new, but has some wear to it , will this technique still work being you have to use the brush against the grain? OR maybe the yellow base coat will "fill in" the worn spots?
