In this project I’ll show you how to use paint to create thick, plump, dimensional dot shapes to simulate the effect of satin stitches and french knots. We’ll also use a round canvas much like an embroidery hoop.

Rachel, I loved every minute of this! Have to admit, I was a bit intimidated... never tackled anthing this big or new... new paints, tools (I ordered yours 🙂 love btw), use of a stencil. Part 1, I had to have a margarita afterwards and do yoga... that was interesting... but finally finished top dotting last night and I love it. You are so fun and encouraging. I struggled with those big-daddy dots and the ovally dots with the silicone tool... but I pushed on! This was great... please do more with stencils (I ordered some of those too). Thanks for sharing your talents Rachel!

Hi Kathy! Haha so many projects are the toughest in the beginning. That gradient background was tough, but we just HAD TO TRY IT!!! 😂 Who knows, if it wasn’t so challenging you may not have invented the “Yogarita.” Which, btw, I will be trying immediately. BTW, I did the Paintbroidery in different colors for a friend and she loved it. It appears your pattern has been very popular, as I have seen several posts of it on a couple of FB groups. I made sure to plug your etsy shop for the stencil and your dotting tools 😁. I've learned so much from your videos, like those big daddy dots 😉 and triple swooshes and don't forget the magic of silicone tools 👏... anyway, you make learning this art fun and I am happy to let people know about you.
