I am a 63 year old lady living in the South African Bushveldt (where you see some of the most spectacular sunsets you can imagine) and I have recently started painting. I have always loved art, but never had the time to actually do it. Now I at last have time to indulge and it is very much a case of not knowing what I am doing, but doing it in any case. Your instructional videos are a godsend to me. Even more important than the knowledge I am gaining from them, is the enjoyment of watching an obviously talented young man sharing his skill and knowledge in such a down to earth and enjoyable way. You are a joy and thank you for sharing your talent (skill and knowledge) in such an unaffected and generous way.

I have been watching cloud tutorials for hours, and this is the only one that really helped! Watching time lapped videos is enjoyable but not very informative. Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail the shading and contrast of clouds, the way the light falls, and even getting a little scientific with thickness. Keep on teaching please!

Finally a video I can actually enjoy watching. Just got into acrylics, used to love art back at school. 15 years hasn't hurt me any though. Just crying out for some techniques to cancel out the trial and error process. Nice details and very few pauses which is nice when you're sat watching paint dry b:)

My High School art teacher recently taught us how to draw/paint clouds, however i somewhat already knew how to on my own. The way he taught us wasn't so much realistic and i was looking for a better example to go from and this helped! Thank you, I love painting sunset clouds now

So gorgeous. I am a beginner with acrylic painting. I have a few paintings that I have done with tutorials. They are pretty simple but I believe if I keep going and doing more and more I can make lots more progress in the future. I know I have always liked art.

absolutely stunning- i received a set of the basic paints for my b'day- have sanded down a used canvas and am starting a landscape of a sunset at a ranch in northern nev. these are the perfect colors for the sunset- will give your method a try- i am so excited- thx-m

Where can I find the begging of this video, where you start the clouds already there, they are amazing.

May I ask what paint colors you used? Do you have the names and brands? Or did you custom mix them to achieve your colors?

HOW OR WHAT COLORS YOU ARE USING TO PUT LIGHT OVER a white color? I also notice is not completely white so what color you are using for the white clouds? it looks more gray? then the yellow for the high light of the sun? Thank you.

Hello muraljoe, really inspiring an encouraging work. Thanks for that. I've got a question: what kind of paint is that? I mean, it seems to be Latex paint. Is that right? And if so, how do you achieve those smooth transitions, and/or do you use some kind of medium for that, because, I think, Latex paint dries quite fast? So I would really appreciate if you could explain that aspect, because I'm going to paint a rather big surface with transitions, and for that I need the right paint, but don't know exactly what to get. Thanks a lot!
