Today I’m showing you step by step how to paint a tropical island🌴 In this video you will learn how to paint tranquil turquoise waters and a white sandy beach and lots of palm trees using many different brushes and techniques! This is when I realize how much using a big brush helps. I always use smaller brushes because bigger ones intimidate me. Your sky and clouds are beautiful. Water and cloud paintings are my favorite! There’s something so peaceful about them.

As always....Beautiful. Besides the "Master" , Bob Ross, I follow you and two others. Viktor Yushevich and John Lisondra. I thank you and John for making me believe that with practice I could do what you all do so well. Viktor. not so much...I can't even dream about doing some of the things I've seen him do. You have become my favorite though...I find it more relaxing to watch and listen to you then to paint myself. Not to mention you got one thing they were unfortunately not blessed with....Beauty. That is really amazing. What a lovely scenery you painted here. With a warm breeze, I can imagine a Pinacolada in the hand and just laze in such environs. One never gets tired of a seascape.

Yes I have lost three friends this year. My sisters husband was only 60 he had an aneurysm that went to his heart. They were married 44 yrs. then two young people both were suicides. Praying 2021 will be better. Asking for prayers. 🙏🙏

That was amazing! I struggle to get a smooth gradation esp. on a canvas this big with acrylics. It was helpful to see you use a bigger brush to blend the paint before it has a chance to dry. Your palm trees make me want to try again with the fan brush. The subtleties in the sky and water are masterful. Great tutorial...

Thank you Deborah, I’m glad you found this helpful! Getting that dark to light background can sometimes be tricky especially if your paint is drying too quickly or your brush is too wet (with water) it takes a bit of practice 😘🎨💓

This is awesome. I love your tropical colors and I want to practice on creating this look but with an array of colorful clouds. Right over the cove. Rainbow soft colors like soft green, peachy, turquoise, pink, like that.

You are so talented! It means a lot that you’re willing to spend time helping us amateurs learn. I’m confined to my bedroom in a hospital bed most of the time. I was a nurse for many years so my view hasn’t changed much. (Medical equipment, lol) But because of experienced artists like you who will teach us, I’m able to bring some of the most beautiful places in the world to my same four walls.
