Almost perfect, but you forgot to wash it down at the start to remove algae and dust.

When should you use a Clear Coat after the final black paint job? Thanks.

I would of power washed it, used a tack cloth and then started priming and painting. Either way they did a great job.

Those red primers are oil-based and contain a variety of chemicals, some of which are carcinogens. People have the idea that as long as they're outside there's no problem. This of course depends on how much wind there is and its direction. You can get substantial exposure outside. The paint can may say that you can use it outside without a respirator but a lot of safety data in the US comes from the manufacturer themselves and so can't be considered objective. If you're smelling it then you're getting exposed.

Spray paint is allot faster, no way I would use a brush on that.

wouldnt the cost of the wasted paint from spray be very costly? and how much efficient/time do you think you'd gain from spray? 50%?

The homeowner wants me to spay the fence. I think it will look better if I brush it...should I keep my mouth shut and follow her directions?
