Keep these tips in mind when painting from photographs:
1. Think like a painter when taking pictures
2. Don’t be constrained by the picture frame format
3. Interpret, instead of copy
4. Move things around for the best composition
5. Feel free to leave stuff out
6. Feel free to add something in
7. Use elements from other photographs
8. Push colors if you want
9. Add color to the shadows
10. Adjust your focus
11. Correct for lens distortion
12. Only follow the photo so far
13. Paint the feeling you had when you took the photo
