I’ve recently done a desaturated green. Deathworld forest, shade with mixed in to pure Castellan green, highlight mixing screaming skull into Deathworld. Bits of shading with A greeny blue and Reds here and there Super quick scheme

For my orks I use warboss green layer over a brown undercoat. I feel the brown undercoat makes the skin look more natural/realistic.

I imagine we can achieve something nice too with drybrushing ? I'm back at painting since 15 years and i'm thinking doing this pattern : base, shade then multiple highlights with drybrushing. Keep going on !
@ArtisOpus
@ArtisOpus Жыл бұрын
Absolutely man, just got to use the smaller brushes and take care to not build up texture unnecessarily (avoid matte paints in the starting steps) Those steps are great, you can shift/repeat the shade too to knock back the drybrushing, just make sure it's diluted/thin enough to not obscure your hard work :)

So hyped to finally get to see some green skin on the channel! Waiting for you to paint up a Stompa now 😉😂 I drybrush my Ork skin so a bit different to these three methods but I quite like the idea of putting a bit of purple in the recesses so will try to incorporate this into my method from now on.

Probably out of the 3 my favourite is the 2nd only being that the bright highlights really help me to identify all the small and easily missed details. Im only capabale of painting the 1st but would love to see an almost sepia tone skin being done. As always love the content!

Great results byron. I liked the 15 min version personally, that wash really adds depth. Plus unless your painting a single mini like for a competition your gonna want to keep that time down if your painting an entire army. 👍🏻

This was great to see and I don't just mean you struggling with the Eavy Metal style in the exact same way i do. I painted the Kommando kill team recently quite early into my recent attempts at painting and without watching any guides managed to find a very similar way of doing things to you here except in reverse. I also add some yellowing at the root of the teeth because let's face it Orks don't go to the dentist!

Nice one! All three look pretty damn good in their own way, and you could use say the first one for troops, the second for elites and the third for a hq, that would look ace, I'm thinking of going for a mouldy look my own orks though so might try this with more drab greens and blues/greys

Three methods vides are the best, videos for novice to advanced painters, from speed painting to meticulously time consuming masterclass techniques...Where can I get the 'EAVY METAL MASTERCLASS book? Hey dude, thanks very much! It's no longer printed, as mentioned in the video it's actually outdated now, the colours used are no longer made, etc. I don't think your google was very thorough ;) 2nd link is eBay, where there are several! Unfortunately they are 5x what I bought mine for 10 years ago, which is a lot, I don't think it'd lose value if you bought one though, it's a special book :)!

Hi! I know it’s an older vides but still hoping you’ll be able reply. Love the different ways to paint Ork flesh, will really help me with my blood bowl team and underworlds warband. My question is, how do you keep your paints so wet for such a long time? I’ve got a wet pallet and my paints still seem to dry out within 5 mins. I find this makes it very difficult to even think about blending let alone giving it a go. Any help would be much appreciated Cheers!
