I am shocked how amazing this painting is (as well as the others of yours) yet, you have so few views. I just visited my city's art museum and I can safely say that your paintings are better than many of the ones I ve seen there. Way better! Even when compared to the best artists of my country, you are on par with them. Personally, I think you are better, if I compare at detail level. Probably, if you were to be born like 150 years ago, with this talent, you would have been a painter known at world level. It's like a picture!! Try to take advantage of this talent and advertise yourself everywhere, including TikTok

Beautiful work 😍 Was the final shot of it after your applied a varnish? How long do you let it dry before you spray on the finish?

Wow Carol your explanationns are so clear and you make it look so achievable! I'm going to have a go. Is the fan brush you use to blend a brush designed for oils or are fan brushes all the same?
@CaroleRodrigue
@CaroleRodrigue 5 ай бұрын
I use soft synthetic fan brushes to get a smooth finish. Bristle brushes leave a rough texture.

Dry. I let each layer dry otherwise you make mud.

If you're only fixing small batches of color at a time, how do you keep uniformity of color?
@CaroleRodrigue
@CaroleRodrigue 3 ай бұрын
Nothing has a uniform colour, including these lemons, so it’s really not an issue. If the lemons were one uniform colour, they’d look flat. If I do run out of a colour, I’ll just mix more. It’s really not an issue.
@fayee8986

Absolutely gorgeous I find that your limits are yellow there aren't. When I look at lemon they're green before they turn yellow. And after they're right they have a green undertone. And of course the older they get the more the yellow darkens to an orange a phone. At this stage there too far gone to be edible. Love your protests to detail thank you for your video
@CaroleRodrigue
@CaroleRodrigue Жыл бұрын
Because there’s no green in these lemons. They’re ripe. It’s really not more complicated than that. If there was green, I’d paint some green, but there isn’t. The golden rule for realism is paint what you see, not what your brain expects to see. ☺️

Why put blue on a lemon ?
@CaroleRodrigue
@CaroleRodrigue 4 ай бұрын
Reflected light. When painting reflections, one needs to really examine the colours that are being reflected and paint those colours in order to achieve something realistic. This is what painting what you really see and not what you think you see is about.
