I love how much time and love you put into your videos! This video is super helpfull to me, as I'm starting to plan my painting of Mortarion. I will revisit this video several times in the near future. Alot of nice teqnics, I will try them out on smaller models first, in preperation on the grand finale - Mortarion. Keep it up! Stunning! Painting that with a camera in your way is pretty tricky (I did the some for a while), so kudos for achieving such a great effect. Will be watching in full slow mo when I come to paint my Morty up :)

WarVisionGaming 40K Do you think the technique used for the purple robes would work well for a Black/grey color?

HiveMind Craig Ive only tried the techniq with Red Purple and green. What you can try! is to make your wed plate as in 28:03 and mixing the colours from dark to grey. Technically it should work.. but ive never done it with black. Just give it a go on a other model with a loincloth, as a test so you don't ruin your expensive model.

Hi dude ! I recently discovered your channel and I must admit the result of you work is stunning ! I like the way you approach the painting with the sponge to give this nice texture, I'd definitely give it a try for nurgly stuff. I'm not a fan of washes to help defining the depth on big flat pieces, but you do it just right with this medium trick ! Thank's for you awesome content, which helps me to get down to business on my own minis.

I almost wish that the wash you use at 12:45 would have stayed almost exactly that because it gives this sick and nasty and disgusting oily and decaying color and feel to it. This is really enjoyable to watch, very therapeutic in a lot of ways. Thank you for the video.

Truly fantastic work. I realize English is not your first language but the term is Stippling with a P. I just didn't want the term going down the road without helping you with it. I am new to Warhammer but not to model building. I am learning a great deal about glazes and thinning which seems to be paramount to painting miniatures. I come from a model car background and many of these techniques are new to me though I am picking them up quickly thanks to the great community here on KZfaq. Thank you.

Kaffeebohne First, let me thank you for your time to place this awesome comment!. Helps me alot. The sponge I'm using is a sponge cabin filter of a lorry truck. You can find them on ebay. But you can use any type of sponge, different textures will give different results. You can also take a look at make up sponges. Bud generally they have a bid more dense structure. And if you can't find it anywhere. I can send you a piece of you pay the shipping cost. Hope this helps brother. Cheers ( Kevin )

Superb tutorial. I particularly like the wet palette technique you used on the clock, that purple really pops and contrasts so well. I’m going to get some grease proof paper next time I’m shopping!! Out of interest why do you build the whole model and not use sub assemblies?

Paul Cox hey paul, First let me thank you for your time to comment. And the reason why i don't paint in subb assemblies is that i play a lot with my models. And carry my models to my friends etc. And i want a really good firm bond between the surfaces. And i have noticed that you can't achieve it with subb assembly painting. And i pin large parts of the model. I have friends how paint in subb assemblies and every time some thing breaks or snaps off. If i would paint a showcase model that i never play with or carry around i wil do it.! Hope this was helpful mate. Greetings Kevin.

Paul Cox Jeaah that's the reason i started these vids. Gw paints and no airbrush. We have so much of cool stuff on it's way we just orded 3 battle mats for batreps. We will do some mdf terrein. OF24 Hey Sir, Thanks yeah really happy with the cam. Only costed me 60 euro's so it was a very good deal. And i convert the video files to the highest quality possible. This only has the down side, that this video had rendered almost 48 hours, On a medium fast laptop. Grtz Kevin.

OF24 it's a Jvc everio GZ-E15BE. if a can think of one down side, that will be the capacity of the battery. It dies pretty quickly. So i'm filming charging. Our channel mate Coolsskin ( Stephan ) and i will be making in the near future pro battle reports. So that's a little bid of a problem so i have to buy a 4400 mah battery that will last 4 times as long. Gr kevin.

Thank you for the tutorial you did, helped a great deal with painting my model. Just completed my Mortarion model off the back of your tutorial, wit some very slight differences but extremely happy with the outcome. Loving your videos, I just got back into 40k after 6 or 7 years and so have to start from scratch getting all my tools and paints again. I'm loving your stippling technique with the sponge. I think in the Plague Drone you said you got it from a cabin air filter of a lorry(semi in 'murika) and searching around websites I can't seem to find a cabin air filter like that. I don't know if your trucks have different filters where you're at. So I was wondering if you could post a link to the type of cabin air filter you have so I could get one and copy your techniques.

Glenn Niles Yooow Sir, I've did a little bid of research, and i found a cheaper alternative. It's the same sponge structure with the same specs. Jus type this in ebay or amazon. Really nice paintjob! Just one point of criticism: you've inverted the highlights on the flames. Normally they are hotter at the core, meaning the highlights should go from light to dark.

That's true, but to my eye they always look better going from red to orange rather than orange to red. Don't know why, just prefer it that way. Call it artistic licence!!!

Lars Johnsson Hey jeaah awesome idea.! Bud keep in mind to paint the purple robing another colour. Otherwise you mess up the contrast. So maybe a brown grey or black rope will be a good thing. ( Kevin )
