Amazing thank you. When you do the first layer and leave it for 10 days do you have other paintings on the go? I'm just learning and I think that's where I hit issues coz I can't wait to get going and I'm not waiting long enough for the first layers to dry

Thank you :-))) Yes, I always have several paintings that I work on at the same time. Whenever I get "stuck" due to letting the painting dry I grab another one that just dried and go on :-)))

Vielen Dank Netty :-))) Viele malen Wolken als wären sie mit der Schere ausgeschnitten - die müssen sich in den Hintergrund "einweben", müssen sich an vielen Stellen auch auflösen, richtig verzahnen, erst dann fängt es an "echt" auszusehen :-)))

Thank you! I started to paint nearly 30 years ago...had some dry periods where I did something else after getting tricked by "mean" game companies in the fantasy/science-fiction illustration field. But I came back and since then I can`t stop painting ;-)))) Feels amazing to inspire you to start painting! And thanks a lot for letting me know! This will motivate me so much :-)))

Those waves are crazy hard and you make it easy peasy 😂 I did try and work for a company doing art, but i became a copy machine basically and was loosing my desire and quit art for awhile just doing family gifts and such. 2022 is my year to paint that awesomeness 🌊 wave!!! 😂 thx for being amazing.

Mr. Brenner, Thank you for your wonderful lessons. I have a question. One of my friends recently passed away and gave me many brushes. One is labeled a Brenner W102. It is about 15 inches long and has a large round head of black bristols. Could you tell me what this brush is used for, please.

Thank you Marilyn :-))) I have not yet my own brush set on sale ;-))) So this "Brenner brush" must come from someone else with the same name that I have. I am also not sure how it really looks like, do you have perhaps a link to a similar brush that you could post in the comment section here? Then I could tell you what this brush is meant to do.

Thank you Monica, you`re welcome :-))) Yes, I let the first layer dry completely and then I dry brush especially the edges of the clouds into the dry background.

Thank you for getting back to me, I always thought the only way to blend colors was wet on wet like in oil but its amazing the same looks can be achieved with different techniques with acrylic. So much to learn yet :)

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what oil do you use for the oiling out process? In this video, it looked like a somewhat thick material...like a gel.

No problem, questions are highly welcome :-))) I`m using here the medium that I use for thinning down my oil colours - it`s purified linseed oil. Just a thin layer, make sure it`s not too thick, otherwise the colour you apply will not really connect with the surface. And I do this only when I use my primed MDF plates - when I use primed canvas I do not oil out the painting surface.

What colours you mixed for clouds especially please

I always use the same 7 colours for all of my paintings - and for the clouds here I used different mixtures of Titanium White, Lemon Yellow Raw Sienna, Cadmium Red, Phthalo Blue, Dioxazine Purple and Lamp Black

Thank you :-))) It took me a couple of days working a few hours a day...I am really bad at guessing and as I did this painting over three weeks while I was working also on other projects I can`t really tell the exact amount of hours that went into it, sorry :-///

Dankschön für den support :-))) Ich hab leider mit meiner im Moment noch 75% Stelle bei einem Verlag und den beiden Videos pro Woche (eines für KZfaq und ein weiteres für meine Follower auf Patreon) schon derart viel zu tun, dass ich keine Zeit mehr habe für ein Video in deutscher Sprache...es ist obendrauf auch leider so, dass ich nur ca. 5-6% meiner Aufrufe aus dem deutschsprachigen Raum bekomme...das "lohnt" sich dann einfach nicht für diesen Aufwand...leider...und danke für die Blumen in Bezug auf mein englisch :-))) Man hört halt eindeutig, dass ich kein native speaker bin, aber ich steh dazu, ich kann`s halt nicht besser ;-))) Hauptsache man kriegt einigermaßen mit worum es geht ;-)))
