Really nice work, mate. And to all the people that say you can't dry brush space marines, I say "Lol" you're just doing it wrong. I think a lot of painters are stuck just thinking there is only 1 style of dry brushing, and haven't evolved with the times. Dry brushing is not only for highly detailed areas now, and doesn't have to be "chalky" You guys have done wonders for the painting world.

Fantastic job mate and worth the wait! If only I wasn’t half way through my army I’d use this. Just a quick question on the dry brushing edge highlights. I’m using a small D and I’m getting some smearing at times, is the brush too damp, a little too much paint or a bit of both?

Hey bud, sounds like it yeah, you want your pad only wet enough to show a light sheen of moisture on a dry finger when held to the light, also take your paint carefully from the edges on your pallet, less is better, work it in/off the brush on the pallet, test on back of thumbnail for ref - then take it to the mini :)

Hi Julian, thanks so much, dude! 1.) I always wash before starting, I *loath* anything getting between me and my minis, it feels really inorganic and, without sounding to new age screws with my zen, I want to feel the mini, I also need a good grip, and I don't like getting sweaty in the gloves, plus I can't test on my hand :D. Stippling ends up pretty dry quite fast, so it's not as much of an issue as with other techniques (unless using fluros, which dry slower - hence hairdryer :)). 2.) It absolutely does, either would be fine here!

Hey dude, my pleasure! Purple base (surprise...) could be purple brown if you like, then it's quite simple really, I'm liking the AK paints currently, buff then ivory, then add white would be legit, that could be any bone colour and off-white though :)

Thanks so much, dude! Go check out our Ultimate Guide of Drybrushing and you'll get the method. Generally speaking, thinning them a little (making them slightly more wet with the dampening pad) is a good idea as it helps lay the smoothest basecoat possible.😊

Hey, dude, not for the drybrushes yet, it's been held up by upcoming product release but should be out very soon. We have a beginners' guide drybrushing scheduled very soon (perhaps this weekend) in which we'll cover 'during session' cleaning 😊The most important thing is dampening pad regularly before during and after each paint.

You can just use the colours that you normally use and apply them as I do in the video. I'd maybe just go from a Dumbell basecoat or similar as you're going to obscure a lot of your first stage anyway...you can afford to go more vibrant than you think😊

Quick question regarding that base coat stippling technique (tried it last night and didn't seem to work that great) are you thinning your paint and is the technique still a 'dry' technique? Also I seem to be getting lots of streaking when trying to drybrush and edge highlight. Sorry for all the questions, loving the brushes btw :) Would love to see your take on the white armour of stormtroopers/clone troopers/arc troopers :)

@S2uBuGaming

When they are covered in paint you can prime them like a model and use them again. The only reason it is good to use a new one every now and then is that the edges are sharper for testing edge highlight possibilities.
