Amazing vid man. I am still terrified of oils for the reasons you had. No idea how you managed to save them, they ended up looking incredible. Cheap brushes = best brushes. Love the talking heads too they gave me a good laugh.

So, oils are pretty easy to use, especially when doing washes. if you were going for a "wash" (as in just getting into the recesses), then by the look of it, your "wash" looks way too thick. To practice, grab a few junk models and prime them a light gray or white, then mix several different washes using different amounts of thinner and see what ratio gives you the outcome you're looking for.

I have been doing real cheap matt medium as a watered down glue, so far great and rock hard.

Brush care ain´t no magic - you can use a simple soap for textiles for like 50 cent to give your brushs some good cleaning after using them and it will also strengthen the hairs. Please do not start using something as "one-way-use" just because its cheap. A little bit more sustainability does not hurt and you will even save some money. I know sustainability and the hobby do not have much in common, but I don´t think now is the time to go full: Just buy cheap and throw away! Regarding oil paints: odorless doesn´t mean harmless. Its the same mineral oil based thinner, featuring the same toxicity, just as the smelly ones! Do not use thinner in an closed, unventilated area! There are so many great tutorials on how to use oil paints and how to avoid the dangers of thinners, that I can´t stand another video saying "I used it and I got headaches and dizzy...". Take precautions if you use chemicals and make yourself familiar with their dangers and how to handle them prior to using them. Get your own information from the manufacturer and just don´t use something because someone told you it would be "less harmful"... I am sorry, but these two things were really killing the video for me and I couldn´t really follow your creative process at all, which is a shame, since your hobby journey is generally great! Please keep in mind for future videos: Awarness and caution don´t cost any money nor time in the long run and do also contribute to the enjoyment one can get from your videos.
