How to paint Uruk-Hai Scouts

In this short video I'll be showing how I paint up the Uruk-Hai scouts from Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game. These one and two part plastic miniatures really are great, loads of details, but really simple to paint - ideal if you're making a large warband! Really happy with how it turned out, now to sort out the command and the other forty odd of them...
Apologies for my voice in this, I have some sort of plague (thankfully not the Rona) and it's battered my throat, so I may sound a little husky.

These Uruk Hai guides have been so helpful as I plan on starting an Isengard army soon. The Merseyside accent is also a plus 👍🏻

What material to use to make the mud for the base?

Awesome work Rob. I haven't got any of the plastic scours, how to they compare to the metals?

Cheers Bjorn, very much appreciated! :) I really like them, there's a heap of poses with and w/out shields, some with bows, and all great poses. I prefer them to the metals tbh, there's less kind of sharp edges where paint can be scraped off, and where they're a pain to paint. I really like these ones. Some wild mould lines like... haha! Nowt a blade won't take care of though. :)

What is the colour of the base coat you used please!? Top work, you have really inspired me to give my scouts a go 💪🏻

Cheers Oliver, very much appreciated! :) It’s initially sprayed with Mephiston Red spray can, I only used that because I’d ran out of black, but the red works well with them. :)

Do you mix your colours with water before painting or do you go straight from the pot?

Hey Daniel, thanks for watching! :). I just lash a bit of the paint on the wet palette (I've got a video of my wet palette - a plastic takeaway tub) and crack on with that. It thins a bit as time goes by, but it's not too bad. If I had a choice it'd be straight from the pot, but they dry out to quick. :)
