I can't overstate the quality of this tutorial. What an amazing finish! It's reminiscent of the old Imperial Armour books from FW, only demonstrated better. Very educational!

Thank you, that’s quite a compliment. Really appreciated. I’m glad you enjoyed it

Amazing result. Seems like an efficient process with possibly better results than you'd get with detailed brushwork.

This work is so amazing. I have about 5,000 imperial guard models that I’ve assembled and primed. I’m just looking for the right paint recipe… this is going to the top of the list to try to make

Oil weathering (especially the dot filtering) looks great on lighter schemes!

It does, it’s a good technique

Loving the content so far, and that streak technique with the oils at the end is incredible! Definitely using that as a final step for vehicles from now on! Keep up the good work!

The lighter colors you airbrushed came out a little speckly. Maybe you don't mind that look (or where actively going for that look), but if not, you could thin the paint more and/or up the pressure. Thinning has a bigger effect than a higher pressure does.

Yeah I was having some issues with the airbrush when I filmed this. I needed a good deep clean. I decided to just stick with it as once all the chipping and washes were added it wouldn’t be noticeable. Thanks for taking the time to watch, really appreciated.

Sponge method was Darren Latham, or at least that's where I saw it.
@rgbminiatures10 ай бұрын
Thanks! That’s probably where I saw it too then

It's also a historicals technique, but Darren Latham is definitely an advocate of the technique :)

Good video, would be cool to have a color scheme and video for related infantry and tanks

It’s definitely something I’ll have to do a video on at some point. Thanks for watching

This is awesome but also makes me want to try oils, which terrify me! 😂

Go for it! They’re really not as scary as they seem

Could I just stipple the Brown and drab on?
@rgbminiatures10 ай бұрын
Yes that would definitely work. It would probably give a nice mottled effect to the armour too, would add to the weathering
@Driz7ziahs10 ай бұрын
yeah if DKOK would actually get a plastic reboot, that would be nice 🥲
@rgbminiatures10 ай бұрын
At least you can now get their infantry in plastic, that’s a definite bonus. Thanks for watching!
