This is a step-by-step, acrylic, painting tutorial, using Q-tips! Follow along and learn how to paint cherry blossom, flowers, and a hummingbird and a limited pallet and some Q-tips.
Colours I used are:
Titanium white
Mars black
Quinachrodone Magenta
Brushes: 70 flat
Small round or liner
Cotton swabs/ q-tips
16x16” canvas

So pretty!! The magenta really pops bright on the black and white canvas. It looks like the wind has sent the flower petals to dance in the air with the cute little hummingbird. Absolutely beautiful! Another great idea! I like the twist for the flowers. Make it look more natural versus many that I see using qtips with perfectly round dots. Never tried your way and definitely going to! Thank you for sharing Joni! ❤

This is so lovely. I love cherry blossoms and your rendering is so beautiful. Should I practice the hummingbird first because it seems like if make a mistake like drawing the wing or something in the wrong proportion I will have to repaint the background ? Just go for it and don’t overthink it! You’d be surprised at how easy it is. If you make a mistake, paint over and try again 😊 remember we learn from our mistakes ❤

It would be very helpful if your camera zoomed in on the small things like the beak because you saying tap tap tap doesnt help to make delicate lines. We need a visual as well as the verbal and too often i feel like u do a lot of talking but we cant see the delicate features.
