I went to buy a smart speaker a few days ago. I couldn't decide which one to buy, alexa or google home. I wanted to buy google but a man serving in the mall said that it couldn't connect to other Bluetooth speakers, but alexa could. Then, I showed him your video. His face was worth watching.

Hey Aaron! Thanks for this tutorial. I have a question..Once I pair the Bluetooth speaker and it's associated with the Google Home Mini as the default speaker, then is it possible for both the Google Home Mini and the paired Bluetooth speaker to playback music at the same time instead of music only coming out of the default Bluetooth speaker? If yes, then how do I go about it? Highly appreciate your time and feedback in advance!

2021: Made home group with minis in separate rooms. Just paired Vizio sound bar to family room mini as per your instructions (thank you!). Told Google to play KZfaq music & now it is playing on sound bar and master room mini! Fluke? Hope not!

@@ArpitSingla37 I think you need multiple speakers. I have three google nests and I paired the bluetooth speaker to the one in my bathroom that I don't use often so I could have my two main speakers and the bluetooth speaker all playing the same music.

Hi there, thanks for that, very helpful! However, can't seem to find a way to play sound through the connected device at the same time as other google home speakers. ie, it doesn't seem o be possible to add it into a speaker group, or even get sound at the same time as the main connected device... or am I missing something? thanks again for the vid! cheers

You can't use the BT speaker AND the Google Home speaker at the same time. I didn't have multiple Google Home's to test the multi room sound scenario.

@@HelpCloud right, figures, grouping wouldn't probably work either as would essentially mean anyone could get the cheapest one out there and then create a full group using third party equipment without the need for purchasing top of the range speakers from google... thanks for a prompt reply!

Hey! In my device settings i don't have the option to add a bluetooth device. The speaker is in pairing mode but i don't have a button on the screen to press that has the word "bluetooth" in it in the nest mini settings menu

As of right now, I don't believe they will work in stereo with Google Home. You can do multi-room speakers but there may be some delay.

That isn't possible. You can have them both hooked up but you will need to swap the soundbar inputs.

Bluetooth version has a lot to do with range. Make sure there isn't anything in between the speaker and Google Home.

Google Mini 1 has Bluetooth 4.1 and the Mini 2 has BT 5.0

Just tried it and the speaker sound maxes out at very low sound, I maxed the volume on the speaker(JBL party box 300) and on my home mini and it doesn't go past a limit. Nvm, just fixed it the speaker had some sort of volume safety and I had to lower the volume before I can boost it

When you tap to add a new device, there is an option to create a speaker group. Unfortunately haven't tried it yet, so I can't help any further with that.

@@HelpCloud This is really disappointing to hear. So does that mean one is restricted to only Google's speaker devices for multi-broadcasting (music)? From what I have experienced their speakers aren't as great as many others, and their certainly not as portable (wireless).

Hi, I can't find any option in Google Home to add a non-Google Bluetooth speaker or Bluetooth Amplifier device connected to speakers. I can add any Bluetooth speaker to my Android phone, but nothing shows up in Google Home except services and devices that are already connected to a service. Has Google removed this option to force users to only be able to use a Google speaker? Please help if you can.

In other words, I'm trying to connect my Bluetooth speakers directly to the Google Home software. I don't have a Google mini. I do have a Bose which is connected to Google Home via a Service. My speakers are generic Shava speakers that don't have a service.

The thing is,when you tap on the setting rotating gear , it doesn't connect to any "office gear" Funny because I don’t I never have any or had any office gear“! So it’s not as easy as this looks! When I push that gear bar it gears me up for a bunch of options I’ve already opted into doing and there are no ways I can connect through this method

Does it find other Bluetooth devices? You can place your phone in discoverable mode and see if the Google Home finds it.

I have a problem. The process of connecting is easy but once I ask google to play something, it disconnects the Bluetooth speaker.

@@HelpCloud I fixed the mistake to an extent. They now stay paired for a while but don't stay paired past 24 hours. They are literally right next to each other and both are always plugged in. Either ways I gave up. Thanks.

Have the same issue, around 2-2:30 am, the bluethoot disconnects (I know because my bluethoot receptor sound when a device connects/disconnects) do you know how can we solve this issue?? Thank you!
