Just remember to keep giving it your all as grade boundaries will get lowered this year so you may be surprised. and theres always light at the end of the tunnel. dont give up just yet. complete the rest of your exams to the best of your abilities

hi I gave AS chem and phy in Oct Nov (my father gave with late fee) 80,000 and I ended up getting 2 e's 😭 my father work isn't going well now so we don't even have much money but me myself & my family is v disappointed and I'm thinking to retake my exams in coming May June with A2 bio I just messed up in exam

And with a bang my result news came in which I got all Us in As, meanwhile I had 4As & 4Bs in O levels. The fee here is 42k per month. Recently they issued a challan for 3 months fee in advance. Meanwhile During my exams I know I'm not gonna get above E this exam series too. It's correct as they say, A-levels humbles down greatest of boasters. And the school's gonna contact my parents in a day or two due to my bad performance in post mocks. The fee my dad paid all this time wasted. All the paper fees are also wasted. I'm at a worst position in life too. All i can do now is to after exams start studying for 6-7 hours a day minimum to catch up. Meanwhile the feeling that my dad's hard earned money was Alhamdulillah wasted by me which might be somewhere around 5lacs, all my friends going for uni gives me a smack in my face. I was always one of the highest achievers bc I was better than average student, but now my over confidence has killed me.

@@nahid2281 references are statements that teachers put into your UCAS to say how you are as a student. I’m going to be in the same situation as @Bo Chaka and I have no idea how I’m going to get references or predicted grades if I take a gap year and resit my exams

@@faz4605 If you get a tutor for a bit, they can give you references or you might have to contact your old college etc. And get references from them from your old teachers

Don't deep exams its not life and death. if it goes well great but if it doesn't its an opportunity to learn what success cant teach you. Setbacks will teach you more in life than success so try not to be scared of setbacks. focus on what you can control and accept what is out of your control. You got this!

@@khushalyousafzai2381thank you I appreciate the kind words, I actually went from BBD to A*AA in about 4-5 months because of the pressure I put on myself, it took a lot from me mentally unfortunately don’t think I’ve been the same since tbh I’m still struggling with certain problems 😄 even though I got such good grades, still had to take a gap year as I don’t really know what I want to do in uni or life really, I keep having second thoughts on certain career paths as there’s people online telling me not to go into certain professions e.g Pharmacy and then elsewhere people talk fine about it so I just feel like I’m going to make the wrong decision which could impact my whole life. It affects me mentally, I still find myself comparing myself to others my age especially relatives who have had it much easier than me, I still have a strong fear of failure since my struggle in my second year of college even though I know I just need to focus on what I can change and how hard I work, I guess I’ll just have to keep pushing and see what happens But anyways thanks again, this video will always mean something to me as it helped me during a tough period and it showed me a different mindset to the one I previously had.

OMG I’m also sitting my AS exams and I’m in the same exact position. But with all my subjects. Cause I full on spiralled. I knew i could get the grades but I somehow managed to do the absolute opposite this last week. Honestly have no hope now. But I’m just gonna try my best from now and hope I improve until y13

Hey it’s possible to retake a year. DO THIS I BEG YOU!!!!!! I got all A* in my GCSEs/ o levels. I wish I retook the year 12. Bc year 13 only gets harder. I got predicted CCD at mocks and now at alevels I am predicted in a few days to get UUE. I don’t wish this on anybody. Please consider retaking. I have to retake my alevels AGAIN in my gap year, pay for my exams while everyone is moving on with their lives. NOT A EASY OPTION. Please please consider

I am now wondering whether to just go to my local University or pay to retake them all. I am also worried about my age each year and going later.

I think school can extremely helpful because with UCAS applications etc you will have access to teachers anytime and you can learn from other students. School can be distraction but only if you let it be a distraction. You have to be responsible with you time, make sure you make a timetable and stick to it. A disciplined lifestyle will give you more freedom, not only you will be on top of your work but you will have time to have fun with your friends and try new activities. Your surroundings are your best teacher, I think staying at home would take that opportunity away from you because you won't learn from other people and might not develop the social skills which are extremely important in real jobs. In future you will be working with other people and if you don't know how to work with different type of people and you don’t develop the important social skills then you are gonna struggle. I would make a list of pros and cons, whichever option has more pros to cons I would go for that one. Goodluck on journey

hi, i am in yr13 and considering on re taking. it doesnt put u at a disadvantage as u are aiming to get high grades howver it is good to check universty polices to see if they accept re takes. On ucas u would have to add ur current grade of what u got on results day and also add ur predicted grades

hey, yes you can , you can book to sit your alevels at a local centre using online services. You will be a private candiate.

@@AO-cu7xp hey! just wondering do they only allow resits if you have mitigating circumstances? cuz a few like imperial or UCL state they usually accept only if there was a valid reason but what if you achieved higher / exact predicted grades than the offer?

@@anjalisolanki5227 nope, I did not have any mitigating circumstances, I just did not get the A level grades required the first time I sat my A levels (I initially got ABCC.) What you'll need to do is search up the resit policy/requirements for each medical school because they can differ widely. For example, I got my KCl offer based on my predicted grades, interview and UCAT score during my resit year- I then got the grades required in my A level resit. However, some schools such as Queen Mary's do not accept A level resits for medicine, whilst Keele Uni only give med offers AFTER you've achieved your A level resit grades. It's up to you to research these and apply strategically. I hope this helps!

How did you reapply without being in sixth form at the time?was it harder than the first application? It's just that I'm thinking of doing the autumn exams this year but I don't know how to reapply on ucas

They do not do October/November retakes anymore. You'll have to retake next Summer. The October/November retakes were only for those students who had exams during the Covid-19 Pandemic.
