You’re right, hack off and start again is best. But that was nice patching it should last a while before cracking along those old render lumps I suppose. 🤔😬

I’m a bricky and this is problem people repoint it with sand and cement or render it. Damp cannot escape leading to damp issues inside also water can not escape through sand a cement so it finds the weakest point which is the bricky which begins to blow. All this sand cement render should be take off

Is awesome to see how each country doing the things in each way. Here in Brazil, we use the same tools like your "floating diamond" and your sponge. To render an entire wall we first use the coat to build guides in edges of the wall. So after it, we apply the coat in one layer. And with a "ruler", basically an aluminum rule to cut the coat using the guides. After it we fill again the holes and more rulers...After it we use your float diamont to smooth everything. And to finish, the sponge. Of course with help with like a brush tool to spray water in wall to help. We call "rebocar" the process to apply coat. Normally we dont use any electric machine to do this. Thank you for your videos.

For rubbed render, the sponge has always been a friend, I love the scratch tool, I used to make mine out of old bicycle spokes and an old paint brush, my mixer was an old bicycle crank welded to a T bar made from old electrical zinc tubes they used in factories to feed the wiring around if I could make it rather than buy it I did,

Got a patch to do on my pebbledash…. Gonna be using this stuff. Probably only use half a bag. Plan is to seal brickwork with the sika sealer then give it a scratch cost then a 2nd coat then flick over it with the tyrolean gun. Then it’s a full exterior decorate and new soffits facias and gutters. I do up houses for a living and it’s always your own that’s half done!

Hi there. HELP!! I remodelled a wall to brick up a doorway and create double doors and some areas needing rendering are nearly 50mm deep and 0.5m in size. From my research more than 25mm render in two layers is not recommended. How do I tackle that? I'd really appreciate any advice and thanks for your AMAZING videos. BTW, funny scary music 😂

Any reason for no beads? And what are the chances of it cracking and bcoming an issue here? I'm guessing that the webber stuff musn't shrink when it's fully cured? Ps: thanks, what you do for the plastering trade is 👌🏼 appreciate the help
@PlasteringForBeginners
@PlasteringForBeginners Жыл бұрын
I suppose it depends on the situation at hand. If it’s all hacked back then I’ll plant a bead but if not I’ll just freehand the angle into the existing. A free handed angle is actually really strong and probably has less chance of it cracking than a beaded angle. Minimal shrinkage mate - another reason why this renders so good. Very good product! Cheers mate…much appreciated. Thank you for watching!

Hi Blaine. Slightly off topic. Just wondering if you know much about Google Business. I saw you on the trowel talk podcast the other day and you mentioned that you use or have used Google business. I know that you said it is free to create an account, but are the any charging fees later on or? I googled it and it didn't really give me a straight answer. But it did say Workspace charges you. Is this the same as Google business? Cheers.

Is that Breathable mate ? I doubt it is. I ALWAYS use Lime if it's pre 80's. 60's/70's really. But just to be sure. Or if the joints were originally lime. People use sand and cement or stuff like this. And don't worry because it looks ok. Most of the time the bricks start spalling as soon as the weather starts to change and people don't see it because there's a slab of a nonbreathable material in the way. And they are Brutal. Especially if no labourer. Most of my towns houses are like that. Good video. Good to know a bit about that one coat stuff. Brilliant When used in the right circumstances 👏💪👊✊👍

Hi mate abit of avise needed for a project at home. I built my mancave out of breze blocks I am wanting to render it using the weber monachouche coloured render the 2 coat same day way should I use the colour render as the base 1st coat or use a base coat render first? And can i do either a scratch finish or sponge float or does it have to be scratch which one would you suggest? Many thanks Luke
@PlasteringForBeginners
@PlasteringForBeginners Жыл бұрын
Hi mate. Be careful Rendering onto Breeze blocks - it pulls in rapid. I’d use a Rendering primer to seal the blocks first and definitely use mesh in the Render. It’ll crack otherwise. You typically scratch Monochouch so I’d scratch the day after it’s been applied. Hope this helps and his luck 👍
