Use Cricut to personalise your notebook or wedding planner with our step-by-step tutorial for faux leather and card notebooks. We'll show you how to create your design in Cricut Design Space - simply switch in your desired text, how to cut your design and then apply it to either faux leather or cardstock/paper notebooks. #cricutwedding #cricuttips #cricutcrafts
There’s a learning curve with Cricut and transferring vinyl to card / paper was one of the lessons I learnt the hard way, so I’m here with this tutorial to steer you around the pitfalls!
Tip! Whatever you do, don’t use transfer tape to move your vinyl onto card/paper, it will stick to the surface and tear it off!

You made this so easy to follow. Going over all the steps not presuming the viewer knows anything is smart. This is exactly the tutorial I was looking for. Can you tell me what works best as far as durability on a glossy hard surface notebook? HTV or Adhesive vinyl? I am looking for the best material that lasts the longest. Thank you!

Hi there, thank you for your thoughtful feedback. It’s honestly lovely to know it’s been helpful. So, unfortunately I have to say I haven’t experimented with glossy notebooks I’m afraid, so my comment is purely an educated guess… My concern about HTV with a glossy finish notebook would be the heat transfer process, I.e. would the surface melt/get damaged during application. As a result I’d default to permanent vinyl instead. However, I’d avoid using the ‘strong’ grip transfer tape to get it on incase it tears the surface. All that said, I realise you actually asked about durability, not application, so if you are already passed that stage (I’d be interested to hear how you got on), then I would personally say I find HTV more durable in most instances because of how it bonds. Sorry that’s not a more straightforward response! But hope it helps inform your thinking. Becky.

Thanks. The permanent vinyl turned out beautiful. Since I plan to sell them I want the longest lasting vinyl method. I’ll give the HTV a go.
