This is super helpful. My almost 15-year-old Shih Tzu was just diagnosed with CHF and he needs to be picked up so that he can do his business in the yard. Thank you so much for this!

Hi, this was wonderful, but my dog has sutures from his inner thigh to his groin (lumpectomy). I can’t grab him from behind or hold his leg. How can I carry him down the stairs to use the bathroom outside?

how do I hold a dog with CHF with one arm. I can use two arms except when I open the door to bring him back in. Thank you. I would also like to know how to hold him to give him love when sitting down.

Thanks I was afraid to pick my little Jack Russell up because of her heart condition. She tries to nip me but she doesn’t. She just makes that nip move and I get nervous and try not to let her know she’s making me nervous. ❤️

How do you get the dog to be conveniently on a table for the pickup? My dog is on the floor, Doc.

Do dogs with CHF feel uncomfortable when handle around the chest, we had a Miniture Dachshund, 17 yrs old. My mum picked him up quickly around the chest and placed him on the lawn, where he had a syncopal episode and fainted, stopped breathing. He had been struggling with the hot weather in previous weeks, being out of breath? Best regards Dave.

No discomfort I would think rather you may compress their wind pipe and also potentially reduce the already reduced lung field

Great video, So helpful but would like to see if you could show this video where you are picking up the dog off the ground and lifting in this way.
