I was lucky enough to get a mini lop that likes being carried, every couple minutes he will lick my ankles until I pick him up… he then snuggles and grinds his teeth for a few minutes while I pet him, then nudge my hand away when he’s ready to go back down… it’s so cute and he does it about 10 times a day and usually 3-4 times in a row (I’ll put him down, he’ll run around the house then want to be picked up again)

I know the right way... thanks though as many don’t.... unfortunately my bunny hates being picked up and rarely lets me. My previous bun loved to be picked up and cuddled. She was my first bun and I didn’t realize how lucky I was !. Still miss her cuddles.

I've been doing this all wrong! Thank you for posting these helpful tips. I've learned so much from your bunny videos that have helped our bunny crew. Putting bunnies back in their enclosure after playtime is when they always freak out. I will try this new method and I'm sure will have a better experience.

I always carry my bunnies with my right arm/hand holding and supporting their bottom and my left arm/hand supporting their upper body. Great video Diane! This is a very helpful and informative video! :)

I just adopted 2 new buns this fall, and they don't like to be picked up so I use the football method, where as my old guys don't mind to be picked up at all, they are use to it. Thanks for sharing, I just had to watch one of your videos tonight...haha (I love holland lops). My new buns are lion heads, they needed a home so I took them in. I guess getting a holland lop isn't very close to my future now...ugh...but that's ok.

Such a cute video. I’m scared to pick up my 5 month old HL. He comes and cuddles and listens awesome he just doesn’t like to be picked up. I have a medium clear tote I cute a U shape in on one side and that’s his litter box and hay. I’ve trained him to jump in when he needs to be moved. He is free range from when I wake up until I go to bed. I love him 😍

My boys decided on how they like to be carried one likes to be against my chest the other trys a hid under my arm lol.

Great video, Diane. Informative and, as always, fun. Wish I had seen this 5 yrs ago when my BeBe was a baby --- and I dropped her. She hit her face on a table and we ended up at the Vet. She was okay but I still feel badly, even today, and it was just because I had no schooling in bunny care. Your channel is a Godsend. Thank you.

i wish you can show how to handle or pick up a bunny who actually does NOT like being picked up since most bunnies dont. its just not the same when its a bunny who is used to handling.

can i use a pet carrier as a nest box as shes quite a big rabbit and wont fit in boxes..

Why won't my bunnies let me pick them up or hold them? They will jump on furniture but will kick if I try to hold them when I'm standing.

The correct procedure to lift Hollands to carry them; is like securing the bunny within the arms.

Do you have any videos for cutting nails of a bunny who is hyper and does not want to be held?

Should I try practising this with my bunny, maybe once a week, to get her used to it? Or should I only do this when I really have to, i.e. once a month to trim nails. I wonder if doing it more often will help her get used to it faster.

Hi, I have a question and I have two bonded brothers that are neutered and 1 year old. I am considering a girl but in Puerto Rico there are no bunny rescue places so the only choice I have is to purchase a baby female bunny. However I am scared of what I should do as far as bonding her with my bonded pair, one because she will be only about a month or two old and secondly because she cant be spayed until she's at least five months. What can you recommend?
